What Liposuction Actually Fixes, And What It Doesn't
Liposuction treats fat. That’s the whole answer, and the distinction decides whether you’re a candidate.
If you pinch the area that bothers you and it feels soft and thick, that’s fat, and liposuction addresses it. If you pinch it and the skin gathers into a fold that doesn’t spring back, that’s laxity, and no amount of fat removal will fix it. Removing fat from under loose skin makes the looseness more obvious, not less.

Factor Four: Athletic Goals And Lifestyle
Someone who lifts four days a week and someone who cycles have different muscle patterns to reveal. High-definition liposuction works by selectively preserving fat over some structures and clearing it from others. The plan has to match the muscle you actually have and the training you’ll actually do.
Factor Five: Long-Term Aging Pattern
Anything removed today has to still look correct in ten years. Over-etching that photographs well at six months can look hollow and dated at forty-five. This factor is why restraint sits at the center of every plan here.
If Factors One through Five don’t line up, you’ll hear that in the consultation. Some patients leave with a plan that starts with something other than surgery.
Who Shouldn't Get Liposuction
Most pages skip this section. It’s the one that saves people money and regret.
Loose skin is the main problem. Fat removal under lax skin worsens the appearance. If you’ve had pregnancies or a large weight loss and the skin no longer retracts, abdominoplasty addresses the actual issue. Liposuction alone would make it look worse.
You’re more than 15 to 20 pounds from a stable goal weight. Liposuction is a finishing tool. Using it as a starting tool produces contours that shift as your weight does.
Your weight has swung more than 20 pounds in the past year. Get the number stable first. Operating on a moving target produces a moving result.
You have muscle separation, not fat. Diastasis recti pushes the abdominal wall forward. It looks like a fat problem and isn’t. Removing fat over separated muscle leaves the bulge intact.
You want a specific number of pounds gone. That’s a weight loss goal, and this is a shape procedure.
There’s also a category worth naming plainly. Independent review data across cosmetic surgery shows patient dissatisfaction clusters in three places: contour irregularities, swelling and discomfort that lasted longer than expected, and results that didn’t match what the patient pictured. All three trace back to the same root, which is a mismatch between what was possible and what was promised. That’s the reason the consultation here runs long and sometimes ends in a no.
Why Palma Ceia Pines Patients Book Surgery Between November And March
Compression garments get worn continuously for four to six weeks. In Tampa, the month you choose changes that experience more than most people expect.

The Florida Fat Volume Rules Nobody Puts On Their Landing Page
Florida law caps how much fat can come out in a single session, and the numbers directly determine whether you can treat everything at once or need to stage it. Very few South Tampa pages state them.
Under Florida Board of Medicine regulation, a maximum of 4,000 cc of supernatant fat may be removed by liposuction in an office setting. Supernatant fat means pure fat, not total lipoaspirate, which is a distinction worth understanding because a quoted “volume removed” that includes fluid is a much smaller amount of actual fat.
The number drops hard when procedures combine. When liposuction is performed alongside abdominoplasty, or alongside any other related procedure in the same operation, the cap falls to 1,000 cc. That single rule is why a full circumferential contour and a tummy tuck often can’t happen on the same day, and why a plan that promises both may be quietly planning to stage them anyway.
Tumescent technique carries its own limit. A maximum of 50 mg of lidocaine per kilogram of body weight may be injected. Your weight sets your ceiling.
Two more requirements the rules impose. Any surgeon removing more than 1,000 cc must keep a log of every such case, retained for at least six years. And any office where more than 1,000 cc is removed must register with the Florida Department of Health and submit to annual inspection, unless the facility holds accreditation from a nationally recognized accrediting body.
That last clause is where facility choice stops being marketing language. Formation operates in Quad A accredited surgical facilities, which means the site meets a national standard rather than a minimum registration threshold. Quad A requires full compliance with every standard and does not issue partial accreditation.
