What Neck Liposuction Does And Who It Actually Helps
Neck liposuction takes out submental fat, the layer sitting between your jaw and the muscle underneath. Small incisions go under the chin and behind the ears. A thin cannula removes fat in measured passes, and an energy-based tightening step helps the skin contract over the new contour.
It is a shaping procedure, not a weight-loss one. Recovery On A Realistic Timeline
The First Week
Mild swelling, some bruising, and a tight feeling under the chin. A chin compression garment goes on and stays on. Most patients return to work and normal social activity at about one week, wearing the garment 12 to 24 hours a day.
Weeks Two Through Four
Swelling drops off steadily and the liposuction result becomes apparent. This is where the fat removal shows itself. Lymphatic treatments run through providers Dr. Grandhige has personally vetted, and they start early rather than being tacked on later.
Month Three
Skin tightening becomes visible and the jawline improvement is obvious to you and to people who see you regularly.
Months Six Through Nine
Final result. Skin tightening reaches its full effect and the contour stops changing. Formation follows patients for a full year regardless.

Driving Down From Hunter's Green In 2026
The route from Hunter’s Green runs Bruce B. Downs Boulevard to I-275 south, then down to South Howard. Roughly 30 to 35 minutes outside peak hours.

FDOT’s Downtown Tampa Interchange project is rebuilding the I-275 and I-4 interchange, a $227.5 million job that began in fall 2023, passed the halfway mark in mid-2026, and is scheduled to finish in spring 2027. That single adjustment usually saves 15 to 20 minutes each way.
