What To Ask Before Anyone Injects You
Four questions separate a medical practice from a room with a needle in it.
- Who is injecting me, and what license do they hold? In Florida a physician injects on their own authority, while physician assistants and advanced practice registered nurses work under a supervising physician’s protocol. Any Florida license can be checked for free through the Florida Board of Medicine.
- Is my treatment on-label or off-label, and why is that the right choice for my face?
- Where is the product stored, and is it reconstituted on site?
- When does my reassessment happen, and who performs it?
Formation’s answers, for the record: Dr. Grandhige evaluates you and maps the plan, product is stored and reconstituted in a clinical setting and administered by licensed medical staff, and the reassessment is scheduled as part of the plan rather than offered later as an add-on.
Who Treats You At Formation
Dr. Gopal Grandhige is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in aesthetic surgery. He is not a plastic surgeon, and for injectables that works in your favor.
His training is in how living tissue behaves under load. Medical school at the University of Michigan, a combined plastic surgery residency at Yale before he shifted into a full general surgery residency, then fellowship training in burn surgery, critical care, and minimally invasive metabolic and foregut surgery. What Goes Wrong, And How It Is Prevented
Most bad Botox is not dramatic. It is a small placement error that reads as something being off without anyone able to name it.
Brow heaviness is the most common complaint people bring in from elsewhere. Treating the forehead without balancing the frown complex lets the brow drop, which hoods the eyes. An uneven brow lift is usually a dosing asymmetry, correctable at the two-week check. Eyelid droop happens when product reaches a muscle it was not meant for and resolves as the effect wears off, which is why placement caution beats broad coverage. Reported cases traced back to unlicensed sources and non-medical settings. That same FDA alert gives you something you can check in the room. Genuine Botox Cosmetic ships in 50 and 100 unit vials and genuine Botox in 100 and 200 unit vials, the carton and vial list the active ingredient as OnabotulinumtoxinA, and the manufacturer reads Allergan Aesthetics, An AbbVie Company, or Allergan, or abbvie. A 150 unit vial, an active ingredient printed as Botulinum Toxin Type A, or a carton naming anyone else is your answer. Ask to see the carton. A practice with nothing to hide hands it over.
Botox is also not appropriate during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or for people with certain neuromuscular conditions. That screening happens before a plan is made.
The defense against all of it is the same. A conservative first pass, then a scheduled reassessment at two weeks, so dosing gets corrected inside the cycle instead of three months later.
What Formation Does Before Anything Is Dosed
Health and diet get assessed before treatment, not after. Inflammation, hydration, protein intake, alcohol and anything with a blood-thinning effect are reviewed and adjusted in the window immediately before and after, so the tissue sits in the best state it can when it is asked to heal. Nutrition, supplements and peptides are dialed in the same way for patients moving on to a surgical or tightening route, where the procedure accounts for roughly 60 percent of the result and the care afterward accounts for the other 40.

This one stays a trip.
It is a short trip. I-275 south to the Howard and Armenia exit, then south on Howard, runs about four miles. Florida Avenue south to downtown and Kennedy Boulevard west works as the surface alternative. South Howard has metered street parking plus the residential side streets just off it, and the strip tightens in the evening as the restaurants turn over.
