FaceTite In Ruskin, FL

What FaceTite Does For The Neck And Jawline

FaceTite tightens loose skin under the chin and along the jawline, and removes the fat sitting underneath it, through two or three entry points small enough to close without stitches. The whole thing runs in our Tampa office under local anesthesia with an oral sedative. Most patients are back at work in a week.

FaceTite is a bipolar radiofrequency device. One electrode passes beneath the skin through a thin cannula, a second rides along the surface, and the tissue caught between them heats in a controlled range while the device reads surface temperature and cuts power if it climbs too far.

What separates this from the treatments you have already seen advertised is depth of access, not the brand name on the machine. Energy delivered from underneath reaches the fibroseptal network, the connective tissue scaffolding that anchors skin to the muscle below. Lasers and microneedling work from the surface downward and stop well short of that layer. Collagen rebuilds over the months that follow, but the contraction of that scaffolding is what actually moves a jawline. If you want the broader picture of how this fits alongside other options, our overview of FaceTite in Tampa covers the full range of treatment areas.

There’s lean. Then there’s sculpted. For some men, even years of consistent training and cutting cycles don’t produce the abdominal definition they’re working toward. Here’s what one patient shared in his Google review of Formation:⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“Waited a few months to write this because I wanted to make sure the results held up.The HD technique did what years of cutting cycles couldn’t. Abs actually show now, even relaxed, even in bad lighting. If you’ve chased a six pack for years you know what that means. Recovery was more involved than I expected and the bruising was wild for a bit. But the result looks like me, just leaner and more defined. Doesn’t look surgical, which was my biggest fear going in. Would recommend, but only if you’re already putting in the work.”Dr. Gopal Grandhige specializes in male high-definition liposuction, an advanced body-contouring technique that goes beyond traditional fat removal.By strategically removing fat around the underlying muscles, HD liposuction can enhance natural muscle definition and create a leaner, more sculpted, athletic appearance. The goal isn’t to create artificial abs. It’s to reveal and enhance the muscle contours already there, with the level of definition customized to each patient’s anatomy and goals.📍 Formation, South TampaInterested in male HD liposuction? Crunches can only do so much. You can spend hours strengthening your abdominal muscles, but that doesn’t guarantee visible definition.A layer of fat sits between the muscles and the skin, and crunches can’t specifically target that fat.For many people, exercise and reducing overall body fat can help reveal their abs. But even people who are already lean and fit can have stubborn fat that hides their natural muscle definition. That’s where high-definition liposuction may help.Dr. Gopal uses HD lipo to selectively remove fat around the natural contours of the abdominal muscles, helping reveal the definition that’s already there.📍 Formation | South TampaInterested in HD lipo? Which one had surgery 1 or 2? 👀High-definition liposuction goes beyond traditional fat removal. Instead of simply reducing fat evenly, the surgeon strategically removes fat around the underlying muscles to make their natural contours more visible. But here’s what makes it interesting: HD lipo doesn’t create the same six-pack on everyone. Each person’s anatomy, muscle development, and desired level of definition influence the final result. Now take another look at these two patients.Which one do you think had HD liposuction, 1 or 2?Drop your guess below, then check the pinned comment for the answer!#HDLiposuction #MaleLiposuction #BodyContouring #Tampa

There’s a story behind every decision.Cosmetic surgery is a personal decision. Yet people who choose it often find themselves having to explain or defend that choice to others. Some want to restore changes after pregnancy or weight loss. Others have worked hard to get in shape but still have areas they’d like to improve. And some simply want to feel more comfortable with their appearance. The reasons are different for everyone. And they don’t have to make sense to anyone else.At Formation, Dr. Gopal believes the decision to pursue cosmetic surgery should be guided by a patient’s personal goals, realistic expectations, and what’s medically appropriate for them.Because ultimately, the person making that decision is the one who will live with it.#Tampa #CosmeticSurgery #BodyContouring #Liposuction

Our first four-legged patient. 🐾Dr. Gopal takes his liposuction and body contouring very seriously.Even when his patients have four legs. From loose skin and neck liposuction to a jawline that deserves its own before-and-after reveal, this might be his most dramatic transformation yet.And yes, he even got the patient’s permission to share the results. 😂A little Halloween fun from Dr. Gopal and his two very patient pups! 🎃🐶No dogs underwent surgery. Just two willing participants and one very committed surgeon.#SurgeonLife #tampa #necklipo

What weight loss can’t fix. After losing over 100 pounds, this patient had achieved significant weight loss, but was left with excess skin around his abdomen and back that weight loss alone couldn’t address.During an 8-hour surgery, Dr. Gopal performed a circumferential body lift, a procedure that removes excess skin around the entire midsection to improve body contour. In this video, Dr. Gopal walks through the procedure, explaining how he removed approximately 3 pounds of skin from the back and estimated another 4–5 pounds would be removed from the abdomen. He’s also using a small amount of fat collected during the procedure to add volume to the upper chest, improving its contour without performing a separate chest lift. For patients who have experienced major weight loss, body contouring can help address the excess skin that remains after the weight is gone.Considering surgery after weight loss? Your fat is liquid gold. The fat you don’t want might be exactly what another part of your body needs.During liposuction, the fat we remove doesn’t always have to be discarded. In fact, Dr. Gopal refers to it as “liquid gold.”Why? Because that fat can sometimes be transferred to another area of the body to add volume, enhance natural contours, and create a more balanced shape. For women, that might mean adding volume to the breasts, hips, or buttocks. For men, fat transfer can help enhance the chest or shoulders. And because we’re using your own fat, we can potentially improve two areas during the same surgery.Of course, fat transfer isn’t right for everyone. It’s something Dr. Gopal discusses with patients beforehand and incorporates into the surgical plan when appropriate.Considering liposuction in Tampa? A flatter stomach without a tummy tuck? 👀Pregnancy, and sometimes increased pressure from fat deep inside the abdomen, can cause the abdominal muscles to separate down the middle. This is called diastasis recti, and it can make your belly stick out even if you’re otherwise lean.Traditionally, repairing that separation often meant undergoing a tummy tuck. But what if you don’t have much loose skin to remove? For the right patient, Dr. Gopal can use robotic-assisted surgery to bring those separated muscles back together through three small incisions, without the long scar associated with a traditional tummy tuck. That’s exactly what he did for the patient in these before-and-after photos. No tummy tuck. No additional procedures.**But this approach isn’t for everyone.** If you have significant loose skin or excess fat, a different treatment may be more appropriate. That’s why understanding what’s causing your belly to protrude matters before deciding on surgery.Curious whether you’re a candidate? The Four-Layer Neck Read

Most necks show aging in more than one layer at once. That is why two people with what looks like the same complaint need different treatments, and why a practice that only sells one thing will tell you that one thing is the answer. Dr. Gopal Grandhige, a board-certified general surgeon specializing in aesthetic surgery, reads every neck in four layers before recommending anything.

Layer One, Fat

Fat under the chin blurs the line between jaw and neck. It responds to direct removal and almost nothing else, which is why people who lose twenty pounds often find this area unchanged. Precise fat removal through small incisions handles this layer, and the result is visible within two to four weeks. Our approach to neck liposuction goes into the technique in more detail.

Layer Two, The Platysma

The platysma is the flat sheet of muscle across the front of the neck. When its edges separate with age, they show as two vertical cords running from jaw to collarbone. These are platysmal bands, and no amount of energy tightening will fix them, because the problem is muscle position, not skin laxity. Bands need a suspension approach, MyEllevate paired with platysmaplasty, which repositions the muscle rather than heating the tissue above it. If your bands stand out when you clench your jaw, this is the layer driving your result.

Layer Three, Skin And The Fibroseptal Network

This is FaceTite’s layer. Skin that has lost recoil, along with the connective scaffolding beneath it, contracts in response to controlled heat delivered from underneath. We also use Renuvion, a helium plasma device, for the same layer. Which one you get depends on your tissue, and the difference between them matters more than most pages admit.

Layer Four, Chin Projection And Jaw Angle

Sometimes the neck is fine and the frame is the problem. A chin that sits back or a soft jaw angle reads as a weak jawline even on a lean face. Structural filler addresses this, either Radiesse, a calcium hydroxylapatite, or Juvederm, a hyaluronic acid, placed along the bone rather than in the soft tissue. A patient chasing a superhero jawline with tightening alone, when the real issue is projection, will spend money and stay disappointed.

Why Sun Exposure Changes The Candidacy Question In Ruskin

Chronological age is a weak screen for this procedure in a place like Ruskin, and a better question is how much sun your skin has absorbed.

Energy-based tightening depends entirely on the skin’s ability to contract and hold. That ability lives in dermal collagen and elastin, and ultraviolet exposure degrades both faster than the calendar does. Ruskin has been an outdoor community since it was founded in 1908, first as a farming colony that became one of the largest tomato-growing areas in the state, and now as a waterfront community built around the Little Manatee River and Tampa Bay. People here work, fish, and live outside.

The practical effect is that two forty-five-year-olds from the same street can present with completely different skin quality. One has spent twenty years working outdoors and has skin that behaves closer to sixty. The other has not, and has skin that behaves closer to thirty-five. The first may get a modest result from tightening and would do better with a different plan. The second is an excellent candidate.

Our general elasticity window runs from roughly skin age twenty-five to fifty-five. In South Shore we weight the assessment toward how the skin actually behaves under examination rather than what the birth certificate says. That is a real difference in how the screen is run, and it changes who we recommend the procedure to.

What FaceTite Is Cleared For, And Why We Say It Out Loud

You will find clinic pages across Tampa Bay describing FaceTite as FDA-approved. It is not. It is 510(k) cleared, and the two words mean different things.

Clearance means the manufacturer showed the FDA that the device is substantially equivalent to one already on the market. Approval means the agency independently reviewed evidence of a product’s own safety and effectiveness. Most aesthetic devices go the clearance route.

Here is the part almost nobody mentions. Peer-reviewed literature notes that the BodyTite and FaceTite bipolar radiofrequency devices received clearance for electrocoagulation and hemostasis, which is a general surgical indication rather than a cosmetic one. The same paper observes that these general intended uses are pursued as a first step for marketing by many companies because the submission requirements are not too burdensome and do not include the need to conduct clinical studies. PubMed CentralPubMed Central

Renuvion is the contrast. After a clinical study, that device received an FDA 510(k) clearance in July 2022 expanding its indications to include subcutaneous procedures to improve the appearance of loose skin in the neck and submental region. You can read the published study behind that clearance yourself. PubMed Central

We use both devices. We tell you which one carries the specific neck indication because you are entitled to know, and because a practice willing to explain a regulatory nuance that slightly complicates its own sales pitch is telling you something about how it will handle the harder conversations later.

When FaceTite Is The Wrong Call For You

There are four situations where we will tell you no.

Skin that has lost its recoil entirely is the first. If the skin no longer springs back when released, taking out the fat beneath it removes the only thing filling it out, and the neck can read looser afterward than it did before. This is the single most common reason people end up unhappy with energy tightening, and it is predictable at the consultation.

Heavy platysmal banding is the second. Bands are a muscle problem. Heating the skin above them does not move them.

True facelift-tier laxity is the third. When there is enough excess skin that it needs to be removed rather than tightened, no device reaches that. Formation does not perform facelifts, and we do not pretend otherwise. We stay in contact with surgeons who do that work well and point patients to the right one.

Active weight change is the fourth. If your weight has moved in the last several months, the contour we create will not be the contour you keep.

Dr. Grandhige turns down cases regularly, and the reasoning behind that is laid out in our philosophy.

Two Ways To Get Assessed

The complimentary virtual evaluation with Hanna comes first for most South Shore patients. She reviews your goals, tells you whether this is likely to help, and outlines a plan before you spend a morning driving. It costs nothing.

The in-office consultation with Dr. Grandhige carries a fee. It is a full surgical assessment, not a sales appointment, and it includes anatomical evaluation, candidacy screening, and an honest discussion of what will and will not work for your anatomy. That fee can be applied toward any procedure or product at the practice. If you want to compare this against other approaches first, our page on neck and jawline contouring lays out the alternatives.

The Short Version

FaceTite works on one layer of the neck, and it works well on that layer. It tightens skin and the connective scaffolding beneath it, from underneath, where surface treatments cannot reach. It will not move a platysmal band, it will not substitute for a facelift, and on skin that has already lost its recoil it can leave you looking looser than when you started.

The value of the consultation is finding out which of those applies to you before anyone touches you. For a Ruskin patient that determination is worth making over video first, which is exactly what the complimentary virtual evaluation is for. Reach out to the practice and we will start there.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. It is 510(k) cleared, which means the FDA found it substantially equivalent to a device already on the market. FaceTite's clearance is for electrocoagulation and hemostasis, a general surgical indication. Renuvion holds a more specific clearance covering loose skin in the neck and submental region. Any practice telling you FaceTite is approved is using the wrong word.

About twenty-five miles. Take State Road 674 east to I-75 and the Selmon Expressway west, or US 41 north through Gibsonton. Budget around forty minutes each way, longer in afternoon traffic.

No. You will have taken an oral sedative. Bring someone, and arrange it in advance given the distance.

One week for most people, with the chin garment worn twelve to twenty-four hours a day. You can return to training at the same point.

Fat removal shows at two to four weeks. Skin tightening becomes clear around three months. The final result arrives between six and nine months as the tissue finishes remodeling.

No. Those are platysmal bands, and they come from muscle separation rather than loose skin. Heating the skin above them changes nothing. Bands need a suspension approach that repositions the muscle.

Age alone does not decide it. Cumulative sun exposure affects skin elasticity more than the calendar does, and we assess how your skin behaves under examination rather than screening by birth year. Some people in their late fifties are good candidates and some people in their forties are not.

No. He is a board-certified general surgeon specializing in aesthetic surgery, and his focus is contouring and tightening. If your laxity needs skin removed rather than tightened, we will refer you to a surgeon who does that work well.
