Underarm sweating is a separate approved use under the therapeutic Botox label rather than Botox Cosmetic. That approval covers severe underarm sweating only. It does not extend to the palms or feet, and hand-muscle weakness is a listed risk when palms are treated. Ask for a name and a license before you book. In Florida, physicians can inject Botox, while a registered nurse can inject only when a physician delegates the task. The Florida Board of Nursing decides that question nurse by nurse through declaratory statements, and each one covers only the nurse who asked. Its May 2024 order, DOH-24-0637, allowed delegation under direct supervision, and the strictest reading of that phrase puts the physician in the room during the injection.
The source of the vial matters as much as the hands holding it. In spring 2024 the CDC and FDA tracked harmful reactions to counterfeit or mishandled botulinum toxin in 11 states, Florida among them. Most cases traced to unlicensed injectors or non-medical settings, though the FDA noted counterfeit product had also reached licensed practitioners who bought from unlicensed sources. A deal-site package tells you nothing about either one.
