FaceTite In Harvey Heights, FL

What FaceTite Actually Does

FaceTite delivers radiofrequency energy beneath the skin through an access point of roughly one to two millimeters. A thin probe passes under the surface, an electrode rides on top, and energy travels between the two. That energy warms the fibrous layer under the skin so it contracts, and it liquefies small fat deposits so they can be drawn out.

The device holds itself to hard limits. The internal probe cuts off at 70 degrees Celsius and the surface electrode at 40 degrees, in renewable 120-second intervals. Those numbers are what people mean when they say the technology monitors temperature, and they are the reason the treatment can be done under local anesthesia rather than general.

At Formation, FaceTite is rarely the whole procedure. Dr. Grandhige performs it as the tightening step that follows neck liposuction, through small incisions placed under the chin and behind the ears. Fat comes out first. Skin tightens over the muscle and bone underneath second. Selling the radiofrequency portion as a standalone treatment tends to produce underwhelming results in the exact patients who most want it to work.

The Formation Tighten-Or-Remove Test

Three separate tissues create a soft jawline, and each one responds differently. Run these three checks in a mirror before your consultation. They will tell you more than any online quiz.

Check One, The Chin-Down Look

Tuck your chin toward your chest and look down at a mirror on a table. If a distinct pad pushes forward under your chin, that is submental fat. Fat is the most predictable thing to treat, because removal is mechanical and permanent. The fat cells taken out do not come back.

Check Two, The Pinch And Release

Pinch the skin just below your jaw between two fingers, hold for two seconds, and let go. If it snaps back before you can count to one, your elasticity supports radiofrequency tightening. If it settles slowly or leaves a crease, the skin envelope has lost recoil. Heat will do less than you are hoping.

Check Three, The Clench

Clench your jaw hard and watch your neck. If two vertical cords stand up from your collarbones to your chin, that is the platysma muscle separating. Radiofrequency does not reposition muscle. No amount of energy tightens a band that has already split.

Two out of three favorable is a reasonable FaceTite conversation. One out of three usually is not, and Dr. Grandhige will say so during the evaluation rather than after you have paid a deposit.

What Changed In 2026, The GLP-1 Effect

Formation treated 68 patients with radiofrequency jawline and neck contouring in 2025. Roughly one in four arrived after losing weight on a GLP-1 medication. Two years earlier that figure was closer to one in twelve.

The shift matters clinically, not just demographically. Rapid weight loss shrinks the buccal and submental fat pads faster than the skin envelope can retract. These patients often fail Check One and pass nothing on Check Two. They arrive expecting a fat problem and turn out to have a laxity problem, which is a different procedure with a different ceiling.

Dr. Grandhige’s guidance for that group is to hold weight steady for at least three months before any contouring decision. Treating a face that is still changing produces a result matched to a body that no longer exists.

How The Procedure Runs At Formation

Consultation And Screening

You are evaluated by Dr. Grandhige personally. He designs every surgical plan himself and limits volume so that he stays involved before, during, and after. The visit covers your anatomy, your skin quality, your history, and what outcome would count as success for you. Formation’s practice philosophy is that some patients leave with a plan that does not include surgery, and that is a legitimate result of a consultation.

Treatment Day

Neck and jawline contouring is a shorter procedure done in the office using an oral sedative and local anesthesia. Incisions are small and discreet, placed under the chin and behind the ears. Fat is removed conservatively, since over-resection creates irregularities and premature aging rather than sharpness. Radiofrequency tightening follows, drawing the skin down over the muscle and bone underneath.

Larger surgical cases are performed in accredited Quad A certified facilities with the same anesthesia provider and the same staff on every case.

The 60/40 Rule

Dr. Grandhige puts a number on something most practices leave vague. The surgery is 60 percent of the result. Post-operative care is the other 40 percent. Incorrect aftercare can undo a well-performed procedure, which is why Formation owns that phase instead of handing you a pamphlet. Lymphatic support, compression discipline, and inflammation control are treated as clinical work.

Recovery Milestones

  • First few days. Mild swelling, bruising, and tightness. A chin compression garment goes on immediately.
  • Week one. Most patients return to work and social activity. The chin garment stays on 12 to 24 hours a day.
  • Weeks two to four. Swelling continues improving. The liposuction result becomes apparent before the tightening result does.
  • Month three. Skin tightening becomes visible. This is where the jawline change most people came for starts showing up.
  • Months six to nine. Final result, once tightening has finished.

Formation’s own follow-up on 2025 jawline cases showed sharpening becoming visible around the twelve-week mark and collagen response peaking near month eight. Fewer than one in twenty patients needed a touch-up. Ninety-two percent completed a full year of follow-up visits, which matches Dr. Grandhige’s practice of staying in contact for twelve months rather than discharging patients at six weeks.

Results generally hold three to five years. The tightening effect is cleared for one year of demonstrated durability, and real-world persistence runs longer than that. Aging continues underneath, though removing the fat resets the starting point.

When FaceTite Is The Wrong Answer

Published outcomes are better than most marketing suggests and worse than all of it. In a radiofrequency neck and lower face series reported in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open, 20 percent of patients rated results excellent and 42 percent good. Fifteen percent rated them poor or unchanged, and half of that group went on to have a neck lift within four to eight months.

That fifteen percent is the reason screening matters. Nobody is dissatisfied because the device malfunctioned. They are dissatisfied because they were laxity cases treated as fat cases.

Roughly one in five people who come to Formation asking specifically about FaceTite are told their skin, not their fat, is the limiting factor. Those patients are redirected. When the platysma has separated or the skin envelope has clearly given out, the honest answer is a lift-level procedure, and those cases go to Dr. Ahmad Saad, Formation’s board-certified plastic surgeon.

Dr. Grandhige’s stated candidate profile for this procedure is narrow on purpose: bothered by a double chin or a soft jaw, reasonable skin elasticity in the range of skin age 25 to 55, wanting refinement rather than a dramatic change.

What The Published Numbers Show

A 2024 prospective series in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery followed 80 consecutive patients through radiofrequency-assisted neck remodeling with evaluations at one, three, six, and twelve months. Average submental length dropped 23 millimeters at the six-month mark. That is roughly the width of two fingers, measured with a tape rather than estimated from a photograph.

A separate series of 66 patients treated under tumescent local anesthesia reported about 93 percent satisfaction at six months with no serious complications requiring further intervention.

Those figures come from combined procedures. The fat removal and the tightening work together, which is why Formation runs FaceTite with neck liposuction rather than in isolation. Photographs of both approaches are in the before-and-after gallery.

Getting To Formation From Harvey Heights

Harvey Heights runs from Florida Avenue on the west to I-275 on the east, with Linebaugh Avenue at the north end and Busch Boulevard at the south. That is 0.114 square miles and roughly 285 residents, which makes it one of the smallest named neighborhoods in North Tampa. Busch Gardens sits directly across the interstate at the same latitude, sharing your 33612 ZIP.

The drive is simple. Enter I-275 southbound at the Busch Boulevard interchange on your southeast corner and stay on it for about eight miles to the Howard and Armenia exit, then head south on Howard Avenue. Formation is at 1315 South Howard Avenue in the SoHo district. Off-peak that is roughly twenty minutes. During the southbound morning crush it runs closer to thirty, so afternoon appointment slots are worth asking for.

Because the neck and jawline procedure uses oral sedation, you cannot drive yourself home. Arrange a ride for the return trip north. Patients traveling from farther out can use Formation’s hotel arrangements near the practice, and Dr. Grandhige visits recovering patients at their hotel during the earliest days rather than making them come back to the office.

More detail on the procedure across the wider metro area is on the FaceTite in Tampa page, and related surgical options are covered under neck and jawline contouring.

Booking From Harvey Heights

Eight miles is a short drive for a decision that holds for several years. What matters more than the distance is whether your jawline problem is fat, skin, or muscle, because those three answers point to three different procedures and only one of them is FaceTite.

Run the Tighten-Or-Remove Test tonight. Bring what you found to the consultation. Formation limits surgical volume specifically so that evaluations are unhurried and honest, and the visit is a surgical assessment rather than a sales appointment. If the answer is that you should wait, or address something else first, you will hear that.

Formation is at 1315 South Howard Avenue in Tampa, open Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm. Consultations are by appointment.

Frequently Asked Questions

ย No. The neighborhood is residential across all 0.114 square miles, with no aesthetic surgery practice inside its boundaries. The nearest options are in South Tampa, downtown, or Brandon. Formation is about eight miles south down I-275.

ย It is minimally invasive rather than non-surgical. A cannula passes under the skin through small incisions, and you receive local anesthesia with an oral sedative. Anyone describing it as a treatment with no procedure involved is overselling it.

ย The incisions are small and placed under the chin and behind the ears where they sit in natural shadow. They typically fade to something you have to look for. Skin type and healing vary, and no surgeon can promise an invisible result.

ย The liposuction change shows in weeks two to four. The tightening change shows around month three. The final result lands between six and nine months. Time any wedding or event accordingly.

ย Generally three to five years for the tightening component. The removed fat cells do not return, so that portion is permanent as long as your weight stays stable.

ย You will be told during the consultation, not afterward. Dr. Grandhige is willing to say no, and roughly one in five FaceTite inquiries at Formation get redirected to a different procedure or asked to wait. The American Society of Plastic Surgeons makes the same point about provider selection: a surgeon who explains limitations is doing the job correctly.

ย Dr. Gopal Grandhige personally evaluates every patient and performs the procedure. He completed medical school at the University of Michigan and holds board certification in general surgery with fellowship training in burn surgery, critical care, and minimally invasive metabolic and foregut surgery.
