What Changed In 2026, The GLP-1 Effect
Formation treated 68 patients with radiofrequency jawline and neck contouring in 2025. Roughly one in four arrived after losing weight on a GLP-1 medication. Two years earlier that figure was closer to one in twelve.
The shift matters clinically, not just demographically. Rapid weight loss shrinks the buccal and submental fat pads faster than the skin envelope can retract. How The Procedure Runs At Formation
Consultation And Screening
You are evaluated by Dr. Grandhige personally. He designs every surgical plan himself and limits volume so that he stays involved before, during, and after. The visit covers your anatomy, your skin quality, your history, and what outcome would count as success for you. Formation’s practice philosophy is that some patients leave with a plan that does not include surgery, and that is a legitimate result of a consultation.
Treatment Day
Neck and jawline contouring is a shorter procedure done in the office using an oral sedative and local anesthesia. Incisions are small and discreet, placed under the chin and behind the ears. Fat is removed conservatively, since over-resection creates irregularities and premature aging rather than sharpness. Radiofrequency tightening follows, drawing the skin down over the muscle and bone underneath.

The 60/40 Rule
Dr. Grandhige puts a number on something most practices leave vague. The surgery is 60 percent of the result. Post-operative care is the other 40 percent. Recovery Milestones

Formation’s own follow-up on 2025 jawline cases showed sharpening becoming visible around the twelve-week mark and collagen response peaking near month eight. Fewer than one in twenty patients needed a touch-up. Ninety-two percent completed a full year of follow-up visits, which matches Dr. Grandhige’s practice of staying in contact for twelve months rather than discharging patients at six weeks.
Results generally hold three to five years. The tightening effect is cleared for one year of demonstrated durability, and real-world persistence runs longer than that. Aging continues underneath, though removing the fat resets the starting point.
When FaceTite Is The Wrong Answer
Published outcomes are better than most marketing suggests and worse than all of it. In a radiofrequency neck and lower face series reported in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open, 20 percent of patients rated results excellent and 42 percent good. Fifteen percent rated them poor or unchanged, and half of that group went on to have a neck lift within four to eight months.
That fifteen percent is the reason screening matters. Nobody is dissatisfied because the device malfunctioned. They are dissatisfied because they were laxity cases treated as fat cases.
Roughly one in five people who come to Formation asking specifically about FaceTite are told their skin, not their fat, is the limiting factor. Those patients are redirected. When the platysma has separated or the skin envelope has clearly given out, the honest answer is a lift-level procedure, and those cases go to Dr. Ahmad Saad, Formation’s board-certified plastic surgeon.

What The Published Numbers Show
A 2024 prospective series in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery followed 80 consecutive patients through radiofrequency-assisted neck remodeling with evaluations at one, three, six, and twelve months. Average submental length dropped 23 millimeters at the six-month mark. That is roughly the width of two fingers, measured with a tape rather than estimated from a photograph.
A separate series of 66 patients treated under tumescent local anesthesia reported about 93 percent satisfaction at six months with no serious complications requiring further intervention.
