When FaceTite Is The Wrong Answer
Four situations where we say no, or say not yet.
Skin that does not recoil. Pinch the skin under your jaw and let go. If it takes its time returning, heat will not fix that. Excess skin needs to come out, not tighten up.
Visible platysmal bands as the main complaint. Treat layer two, or the cords stay.
Active or recent weight change. Contour set during a shifting weight is contour set on a moving target. We wait.
A neck that needs a lift. Past a certain point, the honest answer is skin excision, and that is a different operation than anything we offer here. When a patient is beyond what contouring and tightening reach, we say so and point them to surgeons who do that work well. We stay in contact with those surgeons for exactly this reason. Sending someone into a procedure that cannot deliver is worse for them than sending them somewhere else.

A systematic review of subsurface radiofrequency treatments in plastic surgery reported a 13 percent surface area reduction for radiofrequency-assisted liposuction against 8 percent for the control arm at one year.
