FaceTite In New Port Richey, FL
Loose skin under the chin has four possible causes. FaceTite addresses one of them well and the other three not at all.
What FaceTite Does For The Neck And Jawline
FaceTite, a bipolar radiofrequency device, tightens skin from underneath. A thin probe passes through a puncture site under the chin, heats the deep surface of the skin and the connective tissue below it, and the tissue contracts as it heals. At Formation it is almost always paired with fat removal in the same appointment, because tightening skin over fat that is still there produces a smooth, still-full neck.
Dr. Gopal Grandhige performs neck and jawline work in the office using local anesthesia with an oral sedative. Access is through very small incisions under the chin and behind the earlobes. Fat is removed conservatively, natural jaw angles are preserved, and energy tightening finishes the contour over the muscle and bone underneath.
One regulatory point, stated once. FaceTite is 510(k)-cleared, not FDA-approved. Clearance means the FDA found it substantially equivalent to a device already on the market, not that it went through premarket approval. Any page that says “FDA-approved” is wrong. If you want the procedure explained without the New Port Richey specifics, start with FaceTite in Tampa.
The Four-Layer Neck Read
Most necks show aging in more than one layer at once. That is why two people with the same complaint get different plans. Dr. Grandhige reads the neck in four layers, and each layer has its own answer.
Layer One: Fat
Fat under the chin and along the jaw is the most common single cause, and it is the one that responds most predictably. It is heavily genetic and it often does not move with weight loss. Removing it is neck liposuction, and it is frequently the layer doing most of the damage in patients who are otherwise lean.
Layer Two: The Platysma And Platysmal Bands
The platysma is the sheet of muscle across the front of the neck. When its edges separate and pull forward, you get vertical cords, most visible when you talk or turn your head. Energy tightening does not fix bands. The answer at that layer is MyEllevate, a permanent suspension suture, combined with platysmaplasty. If bands are what bother you, treating skin instead will disappoint you.
Layer Three: Skin And The Fibroseptal Network
Below the skin sits the fibroseptal network, the connective tissue scaffolding that anchors skin to the muscle beneath. When that scaffolding loosens, skin drapes rather than holds. This is FaceTite’s layer, and it is the reason the procedure exists.
Layer Four: Chin Projection And Jaw Angle
Some people have good skin and little fat and still read as soft, because the bone underneath does not project far enough forward. No amount of tightening builds a frame that is not there. Structural filler addresses it, using either Radiesse, a calcium hydroxylapatite, or Juvederm, a hyaluronic acid, placed on bone at the chin and jaw angle. This is where a genuinely superhero jawline comes from, and it is subtraction’s opposite.
“Glad I took my time researching.”
That line matters.
Choosing to have plastic surgery isn’t just about deciding you want a change. It’s about deciding who you trust to understand the result you’re looking for, especially when the goal isn’t simply removing fat, but creating a shape that still looks natural to you.
For our lovely patient, that meant a tighter stomach and waist, feeling more comfortable in fitted clothing, and most importantly, getting the result she wanted “without looking fake.”
That’s the goal of thoughtful body contouring: not to make you look like someone else, but to create a result that works with your body and your goals.

More definition doesn’t automatically mean a better liposuction result.
The goal of body contouring is to create definition that makes sense for your anatomy, not to create the most sculpted abdomen possible simply because we can.
Low-, medium-, and high-definition liposuction can create very different looks, from subtle contouring to a more athletic or highly sculpted appearance.
The right level depends on your existing muscle definition, proportions, surrounding areas of the body, and the result you want to achieve.
For Dr. Gopal Grandhige, a board-certified surgeon specializing in body contouring and high-definition liposuction in Tampa, the goal is balance: the abdomen, chest, back, arms and shoulders should look like they belong to the same body.
The result should feel cohesive, proportional, and natural to your anatomy.

One of the biggest misconceptions about liposuction? That the fat either “comes back” or simply moves somewhere else.
Liposuction permanently removes fat cells from the treated area. But it doesn’t remove every fat cell, and the cells that remain can still grow larger with weight gain.
That’s why long-term results aren’t just about what happens during the procedure. Maintaining a relatively stable weight helps preserve the contour created through liposuction.
Dr. Gopal Grandhige specializes in advanced high definition liposuction and body contouring, with an emphasis on creating results that complement each patient’s natural anatomy.

6 months post HD liposuction with moderate definition.
The goal was a leaner, more athletic contour with visible definition through the abdomen and torso, without pushing the result to the highest level of definition.
HD liposuction can be customized based on anatomy, muscle structure, and the degree of definition someone wants to achieve.
For this patient, moderate definition created the balance Dr. Gopal was looking for.

These lipo terms aren’t interchangeable.
Traditional liposuction, Lipo 360, and high-definition liposuction can all address unwanted fat, but the approach depends on what you’re actually trying to change.
Maybe it’s one stubborn area that hasn’t responded to diet and exercise.
Maybe the goal is creating better proportion throughout the entire midsection.
Or maybe you’re already lean and looking for more visible, athletic definition.
Those are different goals, and they call for different treatment plans.

1 Month Post-Op Transformation! 💥
Fixing previous surgical outcomes requires precision, expertise, and a tailored approach.
Here’s how Dr. Grandhige transformed this patient’s core and chest:
The Challenge:
Previous tummy tuck left uneven abdominal fat distribution
High scar placement creating a visible “shelf” effect
The Solution:
HD Liposculpture to refine and sculpt a athletic, masculine core and chest
Scar Revision to eliminate the shelf-like appearance and create a smoother profile
Keep in mind, at just 1 month post-op, swelling is still settling and we are nowhere near final results! Can’t wait to see this shape mature over the next few months. 🔥

Why Depth Of Access Separates FaceTite From Surface Treatments
The difference is not the brand. It is where the energy lands.
Lasers and microneedling work from the top down. They reach the upper and mid layers of skin, they improve texture and fine lines, and they cannot reach the fibroseptal network, because that tissue sits below their working depth. FaceTite gets there by going under the skin instead of through it. Renuvion works the same territory by a different mechanism.
That is the whole argument for an internal device over an external one. If your concern is texture, tone, or fine crepiness, a surface treatment is the right tool and costs you almost no downtime. If your concern is that the skin itself has stopped holding position, surface treatments will not reach the layer that failed. Collagen remodeling follows, but it is the consequence, not the reason.
Who FaceTite Suits, And Who It Does Not
The skin has to be able to recoil. Practically, that means skin roughly between the ages of 25 and 55, with mild to moderate laxity, in someone at a stable weight. Pinch the skin under your jaw and let go. If it returns toward the bone, there is something to tighten. If it stays where you put it, there is not.
Three groups are better served elsewhere. Anyone whose main complaint is platysmal bands needs layer two, not layer three. Anyone with a genuine excess of skin, the kind that hangs at rest, needs it removed rather than heated, and no energy device changes that. Anyone still in active weight loss should finish first.
Formation refers those patients outward rather than talking them into a procedure that will underdeliver. Dr. Grandhige stays in contact with the surgeons who do skin-excision and facelift-tier work well, and points patients to the right one. Formation’s team also includes Dr. Ahmad Saad, a board-certified plastic surgeon.
Dr. Grandhige is certified by the American Board of Surgery and completed medical school at the University of Michigan, with fellowship training in burn surgery, critical care, and minimally invasive surgery. His approach to when not to operate is set out in Formation’s practice philosophy.
What The Published Evidence Shows, And Where It Stops
The largest published series on radiofrequency tightening of the lower face and neck followed 247 patients. Dayan and colleagues reported an average improvement of 1.4 points on the Baker Face and Neck Classification, with 93 percent of patients saying they were pleased and would repeat the procedure. Ninety-seven percent were treated under local anesthesia.
The complications are worth reading in full, because most pages skip them. Prolonged swelling past six weeks occurred in 4.8 percent of that cohort. A hardened area lasting beyond twelve weeks occurred in 3.2 percent. Temporary weakness of the marginal mandibular nerve, which affects the corner of the mouth, occurred in 1.2 percent. All of these resolved without further treatment.
Three limitations in that paper matter to your decision. It was retrospective, not a controlled trial. It studied a combination protocol, not FaceTite by itself, so the 1.4-point figure is not attributable to one device. And the cohort was 234 women and 13 men, which means the male evidence base is thin, whatever any clinic implies. Several authors disclose consulting relationships with the manufacturer.
None of that argues against the procedure. It argues for reading the numbers before you sit down, so the consultation is about your anatomy rather than about marketing.
How Formation Prepares The Body Before And After
Health and diet are assessed before treatment, not after. Nutrition, supplements and peptides are adjusted in the window immediately before and immediately after, so the body has what it needs to build the most structure it can while the tissue is remodeling. Protein intake, inflammation control and lymphatic flow are handled as part of the plan rather than as advice at checkout.
Dr. Grandhige puts a number on it. The surgery is 60 percent of the result and the post-operative care is 40 percent. Poor after-care can undo work that was done correctly. Lymphatic treatment begins at the first post-operative visit, and he follows patients for a full year.
The device in the room is the same one every practice can buy. The thinking around it is not.
Your Recovery, Week By Week
First few days. Mild swelling, bruising and tightness. A chin compression garment goes on.
One week. Back to work and social activities. The chin garment stays on 12 to 24 hours a day through this stretch. Back to training at one week.
Two to four weeks. Swelling continues settling. The fat removal is visibly done by this point, which is what most people notice first.
Three months. Skin tightening becomes visible and the jawline is clearly sharper.
Six to nine months. Final result, once tightening has finished.
The gap between week four and month three is where people get anxious. The fat is gone, the skin has not caught up yet, and nothing appears to be happening. That interval is normal and it is the single most common reason patients call. You can see finished outcomes in the neck and jawline contouring gallery.
Making The Drive From New Port Richey Work
It is about 38 miles from downtown New Port Richey to 1315 South Howard Avenue, and roughly 50 minutes without traffic. Formation is not around the corner and this page is not going to pretend otherwise. The honest question is what a 76-mile round trip does to your recovery schedule.
The usual route is Little Road or State Road 54 to the Suncoast Parkway, south onto the Veterans Expressway, then off at State Road 60 and across to Howard Avenue. Both segments are all-electronic tolling. The Suncoast stopped taking cash in January 2020, so it is SunPass or Toll-By-Plate only. US 19 south is the toll-free alternative and it is slower, with signal traffic most of the way through Pinellas.
Two points in your recovery collide with that distance. The first post-operative visit is when lymphatic treatment starts, and that visit is not one to skip. The chin garment week overlaps with it. Formation handles this the same way it handles out-of-state patients: the practice has relationships with hotels near the clinic at reduced rates, and Dr. Grandhige visits recovering patients in their rooms during the early days rather than making them come back in.
For a Pasco County patient, that is the practical difference between a treatable plan and a string of long drives. Ask about it during the evaluation rather than after.
Scheduling Around The New Port Richey Year
Timing matters more than people expect, because the visible tightening milestone is three months out and the final result is six to nine months out.
Work backward from whatever you actually care about. If you want the three-month mark behind you before Chasco Fiesta in March, you are booking in late fall. If you want the full six-to-nine-month result for it, you are booking the previous summer. Cotee River Seafest in April and the Bike Fest in October run on the same arithmetic. A wedding, a reunion, or a season of photos on the water works the same way.
Patients who plan around a date are satisfied. Patients who book six weeks before one are usually looking at the awkward interval instead of the result.
Two Ways To Start
The in-office consultation with Dr. Grandhige carries a fee. It is a full surgical assessment, including anatomical evaluation, candidacy across all four layers, and an honest discussion of limits and alternatives. The fee can be applied toward any procedure or product at the practice.
If a 38-mile drive is a lot to commit before you know whether you are a candidate, Formation also offers a complimentary virtual evaluation with patient coordinator Hanna. She reviews your goals, flags which layer is likely driving your concern, and outlines a plan before you decide to come in. Either route starts on the neck and jawline contouring page or by phone at 813-922-2920.
The Short Version
If the skin under your jaw still recoils when you pinch and release it, and fat rather than muscle is blurring the line, FaceTite paired with conservative fat removal is a reasonable procedure with a week of real downtime and a three-month wait for the tightening to show. If bands, true skin excess, or a recessed chin are the actual problem, it is the wrong procedure and Formation will tell you so.
The four-layer read is what that visit is for. Book the complimentary virtual evaluation with Hanna if you want to know which layer applies before you make the drive from New Port Richey.
Frequently Asked Questions
It is a minimally invasive procedure, not a scarless one. It involves incisions, anesthesia, and controlled heat under the skin. The puncture sites are small and heal without stitches, but calling it non-surgical misrepresents it.
Formation does not publish a duration figure, because the published follow-up data runs to six and twelve months rather than years. Removing fat in this area is durable. Skin continues to age. Any clinic quoting five to seven years is quoting marketing.
Most patients report that colleagues comment they look more rested rather than identifying a procedure. That is the intended outcome. Conservative fat removal and preserved jaw angles are what make it read as rest instead of surgery.
The procedure is done with local anesthesia and an oral sedative, and most patients describe pressure rather than pain. The first few days feel tight and swollen more than sore.
Rarely. If fat is the problem, fat removal is the fix and tightening finishes it. Skin tightening alone over unremoved fat gives you a smoother version of the same silhouette.
Then you are a layer two patient and energy tightening is the wrong tool. Bands come from the platysma separating, and the answer is a suspension suture with platysmaplasty. Bring this up early.
Candidacy tracks skin recoil rather than a birthday, and the working window is roughly skin ages 25 to 55. Past that, skin often needs removing rather than heating, and Formation will refer you out instead of treating you.
Not required, but worth considering for the first few days given the drive. Formation has reduced rates with nearby hotels, and Dr. Grandhige sees early post-operative patients in their rooms.
