Check Two, The Stretch Test
Put two fingers on either side of the crease and stretch the skin gently apart. If the line flattens and disappears, you’re looking at a fold in mobile skin rather than damage in the skin itself. Botox works here, but the timeline is different. Stop the folding for two or three treatment cycles and the crease softens as the skin stops being creased in the same spot every day. One appointment won’t finish the job.
Check Three, The Etch Test
If the line is still visible while you’re stretching the skin flat, it’s etched into the dermis. Botox will stop that line from deepening. It will not erase it. Anyone telling you a higher unit count will erase an etched line is selling you units. Etched lines need skin work, not more toxin, and saying so up front is the difference between a patient who’s satisfied at two weeks and one who isn’t.
Most faces score differently in different zones. It’s common for the glabella to read as Check One while the outer eye already reads as Check Three. Your plan should reflect that, not average it.

The practical result is that a 38-year-old from Cheval with a decade of Saturday rounds frequently reads dynamic between the brows and static at the outer eye at the same visit. Dosing both zones identically produces a result that looks half-finished. The sequence we use is to treat the dynamic zones first, then plan skin work separately for the etched ones. It also means sunglasses and daily sunscreen do more for the static component than any additional unit will.
Where Botox Stops And Something Else Starts
Botox relaxes muscle. That’s the entire mechanism, and it sets hard limits.
It does not tighten loose skin. It does not replace lost volume. It does not lift a brow that sits low because the tissue has descended rather than because a muscle is pulling it down. That last one matters: relaxing the frontalis in someone whose brow heaviness comes from descent will drop the brow further and make the eyelid look heavier. Jowls, nasolabial folds, under-eye hollowing and neck laxity are not Botox problems, and treating them as Botox problems wastes your money and your two weeks.

It has to be prescribed by an authorized prescriber for a specific patient, and when the injection is delegated to a nurse practitioner, physician assistant or registered nurse, that delegation runs through a written supervision protocol with documented physician oversight. The rules sit with the Florida Board of Medicine.
Two questions are worth asking at any practice in Hillsborough or Pasco County, including this one. Who is holding the syringe, and what license do they hold. And where does the product come from. A practice that answers both directly is telling you something. A practice that gets vague is also telling you something.
