FaceTite In Lutz, FL
FaceTite tightens loose skin under the chin and along the jaw without a facelift. Submental fullness that survives a lean year. It is largely genetic, and it does not respond to diet or training in most people. The answer is fat removal, not tightening. Dr. Grandhige uses precise, conservative removal under the chin, avoiding the over-resection that leaves irregularities and a hollowed look a decade later. Layer Two: The Platysma And Platysmal Bands
Two vertical cords that stand out when you tense your neck or turn your head. No energy device touches them, because the problem is muscle, not skin. The answer here is MyEllevate, a permanent suspension suture, paired with platysmaplasty. If you have visible bands and someone quotes you FaceTite alone, that is a mismatch you can catch in the consultation.
Layer Three: Skin And The Fibroseptal Network
The fibroseptal network is the connective tissue scaffolding that runs between skin and muscle. When it slackens, skin stops holding its position over the jaw. This is FaceTite’s layer, and the only one it treats. Skin age of roughly 25 to 55 is the window where there is enough elasticity left for heat to produce a real change.
Layer Four: Chin Projection And Jaw Angle
Some people have a soft profile because the bone under it does not come forward far enough. No amount of tightening fixes a short chin. The answer is structural filler at the chin and jaw angle, using Radiesse, a calcium hydroxylapatite, or Juvederm, a hyaluronic acid, to build projection the frame never had. This is often where a superhero jawline actually comes from, and Formation’s injectables work covers it.
Why Depth Of Access Is The Whole Argument
The reason FaceTite reaches something that facials and skin devices cannot is depth, not the brand name on the handpiece.
Surface treatments work top down. Lasers and microneedling deliver energy into the skin itself, from the outside in, and they do good work on texture, tone and fine lines. What they cannot do is get underneath the skin to the fibroseptal network, because that scaffolding sits below the layer they reach. You can run a full year of surface treatments on a neck and never touch the structure that is letting it go.
FaceTite gets under it. The internal probe travels in the plane where that connective tissue lives and heats it directly. That is the argument, and it is the only argument that matters when comparing categories.
Collagen production does follow, and it continues for months after the visit. That is supporting detail, not the headline. Every device on the market claims collagen. Not every device reaches the foundation.
Who FaceTite Helps, And Who It Does Not
The most common complaint from patients who are unhappy with radiofrequency tightening is under-correction. In most of those cases the device performed exactly as it should. The read was wrong. Someone with prominent platysmal bands or a recessed chin was sold a layer three treatment, and layer three was never the problem.
FaceTite works well if your skin still snaps back when you release it, your fullness is fat rather than hanging tissue, and you want a sharper line rather than a different face.
It is the wrong tool if your neck skin hangs at rest, if the laxity is advanced, or if your goal is a facelift result without a facelift. Dr. Grandhige does not perform facelifts or neck skin excision, and he does not pretend a device substitutes for one. Patients who need that work are referred out. Formation stays in contact with surgeons who do it well and points you to the right one rather than treating you with something that will not reach.
Sometimes the honest answer is to wait, or to do nothing. Dr. Grandhige says no when surgery is not the right call, which is a large part of why patients drive in from across Florida to sit down with him.
What Treatment Day Looks Like At Formation
Neck and jawline work at Formation is an office procedure, not a surgical center day. You take an oral sedative, the area is numbed with local anesthesia, and the work is done through very small incisions under the chin and behind the ears.
Fat is removed first, carefully, with the jaw angles preserved. Over-aggressive removal here is what creates contour irregularities and an aged look later, so Dr. Grandhige stays deliberately conservative. FaceTite or Renuvion follows, tightening the skin down over the muscle and bone that were just uncovered.
You go home the same day wearing a chin compression garment. No general anesthesia, no overnight stay, no driver needed beyond the ride home.
How Formation Prepares You Before And After
The device is identical at every practice that owns one. The thinking around it is not.
Before anything is scheduled, your health and diet are assessed. Nutrition, supplements and peptides are then adjusted in the window immediately before and after treatment so your body builds the most structure it can while the tissue is remodeling. Medical-grade arnica and bromelain are provided with your procedure and started a month ahead, and vitamin K is part of the same protocol. Protein intake goes up. Dieting around your procedure is discouraged, which surprises people, because a body in a caloric deficit is a body that heals badly.
This is the 60/40 Recovery Standard, and Dr. Grandhige states it plainly: the procedure is 60 percent of your result and the post-operative care is 40 percent. Incorrect aftercare can undo well-executed work. Formation owns that 40 percent rather than handing you a printout.

Recovery Week By Week
The first few days bring mild swelling, some bruising and a tight feeling, with the chin compression garment on.
At one week, most patients are back at work and back to training. The garment stays on 12 to 24 hours a day through that week.
Between weeks two and four, swelling keeps settling and the results of the fat removal become clear. This is usually when people start noticing something changed without knowing what.
At three months, the skin tightening is visible and the jawline shows real improvement.
Between six and nine months, the final result is apparent once tightening has fully settled.
That last number is the one to plan around. If you have a wedding, a reunion or a photo-heavy stretch coming, count backward from it rather than booking on impulse.
What The Published Research Shows, And What It Does Not
The largest published cohort on this technique is a retrospective review by Dayan and colleagues covering 247 patients treated for lower face and neck laxity with multimodal radiofrequency. Reported issues included prolonged swelling, firm areas that took months to soften, and temporary weakness of the marginal mandibular nerve. All resolved without further treatment.
Read the study design before you read the numbers. It is retrospective and single-arm, with no control group and no blinded assessors. It shows what happened in one experienced team’s hands. It does not prove the device beats an alternative.
One more distinction worth having straight: FaceTite is 510(k)-cleared, not FDA-approved. Clearance means a device was shown to be substantially equivalent to one already on the market. Any page telling you FaceTite is FDA-approved has the term wrong.
