What Jawline Filler Does And What It Cannot Do
Filler builds volume in places where bone projection or soft tissue support is missing. Placed along the mandibular border, at the chin, or at the back corner of the jaw, it creates a harder edge between the face and the neck.
It cannot dissolve a fat pad under the chin. It cannot lift skin that has lost elasticity. Adding volume to a jaw that is already carrying excess soft tissue usually makes the lower face heavier, not sharper.
The FDA regulates these products as implanted medical devices rather than drugs, and its dermal filler guidance is direct about the main hazard: the most serious risk is unintended injection into a blood vessel. Expect firmness and mild swelling for the first 48 to 72 hours, with the jawline reading slightly wider than the final result. Chewing may feel unfamiliar for a few days if the product was placed near the masseter attachment.

Skip strenuous exercise, alcohol and heat exposure for the first 24 hours, all of which increase bruising. Sleep with your head elevated the first two nights.
