FaceTite In Rembrandt Gardens, FL

FaceTite, a radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis device, tightens loose skin under the chin and along the jaw. At Formation, it’s paired with liposuction through a few very small incisions, so fat comes out and the skin tightens in one visit. It’s done in the office on South Howard Avenue, about 15 to 20 minutes from Rembrandt Gardens, with an oral sedative and local anesthetic. You stay awake, and most people are back at work and training within a week.

It works best on a specific kind of neck. Dr. Grandhige reads four layers before he recommends it, and sometimes the right answer is a different tool or a referral.

What FaceTite Does Under Your Jaw

FaceTite heats from underneath. A thin electrode passes under the skin while a second one rides on the surface, and radiofrequency energy flows between them with temperature monitored throughout. The heat liquefies fat so it can be removed. It also contracts the fibroseptal network, the connective tissue foundation that anchors skin to the muscle below.

Depth is the difference. Lasers and microneedling work from the top down and can’t reach that foundation. FaceTite works at the deepest layer of the skin and the fibroseptal network beneath it, which gives the skin a firmer base to settle onto. Collagen remodeling continues for months afterward and adds to the result.

At Formation, FaceTite is one step inside neck and jawline contouring, not a stand-alone treatment. Fat comes out first through small incisions under the chin and behind the ears. The energy step then tightens what’s left, so the skin contours over the muscle and bone instead of sitting loose.

One regulatory note. FaceTite runs on the InMode RF System, which is 510(k)-cleared, not FDA-approved. Its clearance covers electrocoagulation and hemostasis in dermatologic and general surgical procedures, based on substantial equivalence to a device already on the market. Approval is a separate, stricter pathway.

Getting Here From Rembrandt Gardens

Formation is at 1315 South Howard Avenue, roughly 15 to 20 minutes from Rembrandt Gardens outside rush hour. The neighborhood is a small pocket of the 33616 ZIP code at the edge of MacDill Air Force Base. It’s bounded by Lois Avenue, Manhattan Avenue, Interbay Boulevard and Rembrandt Drive. The simplest drive runs north to Gandy Boulevard, east to Bayshore Boulevard, then up Bayshore to Howard Avenue. Gandy traffic is the variable, so morning appointments tend to be the easier trip.

That short drive shapes the recovery plan. Patients who travel in from farther away often recover in nearby hotels where Formation has relationships, and Dr. Grandhige visits them there in the first days. From Rembrandt Gardens you recover in your own bed, and a year of follow-up visits is a quick run up Bayshore. Nearby Ballast Point, Bayside West, Port Tampa City, Gandy-Sun Bay South and Fair Oaks-Manhattan Manor use the same route.

Appointments run Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, at (813) 922-2920. You can start with a complimentary virtual evaluation with Hanna, Formation’s patient coordinator. She reviews your goals and outlines a plan before you decide to come in. The in-office consultation with Dr. Grandhige carries a fee and is a full surgical assessment that includes the four-layer read. That fee applies toward any procedure or product at Formation.

The Four-Layer Neck Read

Before FaceTite goes on the calendar, Dr. Grandhige reads the neck in four layers, and each layer has its own solution. Most necks show aging in more than one layer at once. That’s why one device rarely fixes the whole picture.

Layer One: Fat

Fat under the chin and along the jaw is often genetic, and it stays even when the rest of you is lean. Liposuction through small incisions removes it. Dr. Grandhige takes it out conservatively, because over-aggressive fat removal leaves irregularities and can age a neck instead of sharpening it.

Layer Two: Platysma Muscle And Platysmal Bands

In some necks, vertical cords stand up between the jaw and the collarbone during a grimace. Those are platysmal bands, a muscle problem heat can’t correct. Removing the fat that partly hid them can make them easier to see. Where bands are present, the layer-two solution is MyEllevate, a permanent suspension suture, combined with platysmaplasty.

Layer Three: Skin And The Fibroseptal Network

This is FaceTite’s layer. Skin with reasonable elasticity, roughly the skin age of someone between 25 and 55, still has a fibroseptal network that contracts under heat. Skin age and birthday age don’t always match, so the exam matters more than the number on your license. Skin far past that window usually needs removal, not tightening.

Layer Four: Chin Projection And Jaw Angle

Bone sets the ceiling. A short chin or a soft jaw angle limits how sharp any neck can look, however well the skin tightens. This layer gets structure instead of heat: Radiesse, a calcium hydroxylapatite, or Juvederm, a hyaluronic acid, placed to build chin projection and define the jaw angle. It’s the layer behind the superhero jawline people ask about. Filler builds the frame but doesn’t tighten skin, so early jowling that hasn’t responded to injectables often needs layer three too.

The read reflects Dr. Gopal Grandhige’s path to aesthetic surgery. He completed a general surgery residency, then fellowships in burn surgery, critical care, and minimally invasive metabolic and foregut surgery. Burn surgery trains a surgeon in how skin and the tissue beneath it respond to heat, the same biology FaceTite uses on purpose. Neck and jawline liposuction is one of the five procedures he performs most often.

The in-office consultation with Dr. Grandhige carries a fee, covers a full surgical assessment, and applies toward any procedure or product at Formation. If you’d rather start from home, book a complimentary virtual evaluation with Hanna, Formation’s patient coordinator.

FaceTite, Renuvion, Or Liposuction

Formation runs more than one tightening device, so the device gets matched to the neck, not the other way around. Four paths come out of the read.

When FaceTite Fits

FaceTite fits a neck with moderate fat, skin inside the elasticity window, no visible bands, and a chin that sets a clean angle. On that neck, liposuction and FaceTite in one office session cover layers one and three together. The main FaceTite in Tampa page covers the procedure itself in more detail.

When Renuvion Fits Better

Renuvion, a helium plasma and radiofrequency device, also tightens from beneath the skin but delivers its heat differently from FaceTite’s two-electrode design. Both are in the building. Dr. Grandhige chooses between them on exam, based on how your skin and the tissue under it behave, not at the booking desk.

When Liposuction Does Most Of The Work

Some necks are a fat problem more than a skin problem. One Formation patient, a professional in his 40s, had always looked heavier and older in photos than he felt, and weight loss never changed his neck. His plan was targeted neck liposuction with jawline contouring that kept his natural angles and deliberately avoided aggressive skin tightening. Colleagues said he looked rested. He gets in pictures now, and he says his face finally matches the rest of his body.

When The Answer Is A Referral

Heavy laxity, or excess skin that needs to come off, is beyond what tightening or contouring can reach. In that case Formation refers you out. The practice stays in contact with surgeons who do that work well and points you to the right one.

What The Published Data Shows

One of the largest published reviews of this technique followed 247 lower face and neck patients across three centers between 2013 and 2018. Patients improved by an average of 1.4 points on the Baker Face and Neck Classification, and 93 percent said they were pleased and would do it again.

Complications were specific: swelling beyond six weeks in 4.8 percent, firm areas beyond twelve weeks in 3.2 percent, and temporary weakness of the marginal mandibular nerve in 1.2 percent. All of them resolved without further treatment. That nerve moves the lower lip and runs close to the jawline, so the surgeon’s working plane matters as much as the device.

The limits matter as much as the numbers. Every patient received FaceTite combined with fractional radiofrequency microneedling, so the results can’t be credited to FaceTite alone. The group was 234 women and 13 men averaging 55 years old, and older patients showed a larger measured change than younger ones. It was a retrospective review with no untreated comparison group.

Two things follow for a Formation patient. With only 13 men studied, the data says little about male necks, and that matters at a practice known for male aesthetics. A smaller change in younger patients likely reflects less laxity to start with, which is why some necks in their 30s and 40s need liposuction and little tightening. The full paper is in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Global Open.

Why Neck Results Go Wrong, Layer By Layer

The complaints people raise after neck treatments fall into a few patterns. Each one traces back to a layer that was misread or overtreated.

Lumps and an uneven surface usually mean fat came out too aggressively or unevenly in layer one. Restraint prevents it: remove what blurs the jaw and leave enough to keep the surface smooth. A hollow, older look comes from taking too much, because the fat left behind supports the face as it ages.

A looser, crepey neck after fat removal means skin past the elasticity window was treated as a fat problem. That’s a layer-three misread. Cords that look worse afterward are platysmal bands the fat used to hide, a layer-two problem heat was never going to fix.

Firmness that lingers for weeks happens to a small share of patients, as the study figures show. It’s one reason recovery is managed instead of waited out. Restraint runs through all of it, and it sits at the center of Formation’s philosophy: do only what’s necessary, and do that part exceptionally well.

Your Day At Formation

FaceTite here is an office procedure. You take an oral sedative to settle your nerves, the area is numbed with local anesthetic, and you stay awake throughout. There’s no general anesthesia and no hospital admission.

Dr. Grandhige performs the procedure himself. He makes small, discreet incisions under the chin and behind the ears and removes fat carefully so your natural jaw angles stay intact. Then he uses FaceTite to tighten the skin over the muscle and bone beneath. A chin compression garment goes on before you leave, and because of the sedative, someone else drives you home.

Every judgment call in the room comes from a surgeon board-certified in general surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He has more than 15 years of operating and several thousand procedures behind him.

Preparation And Recovery

Preparation starts before the procedure date. Your health and diet are assessed first. Then nutrition, protein, supplements and peptides are adjusted in the window just before and after treatment, so your body can build as much new structure as possible while the fibroseptal network contracts.

Dr. Grandhige puts a number on what follows: the procedure is 60 percent of your result and post-operative care is the other 40. That’s the 60/40 Recovery Standard, and poor aftercare can undo good work. Formation manages recovery directly, using lymphatic, nutrition and coaching providers he has vetted personally. Follow-up runs a full year, and nearly all patients stay for all of it.

  • First few days: mild swelling, bruising and tightness under the chin, with the chin compression garment on.
  • One week: back to work, social plans and training, wearing the garment 12 to 24 hours a day.
  • Two to four weeks: swelling keeps settling and the liposuction result becomes visible.
  • Three months: skin tightening shows, with a clear change along the jaw.
  • Six to nine months: final result, once skin contraction is complete.

Time it to the calendar. A garment worn most of the day is easier in February than in August, and tightening takes about three months to show. For a jawline that’s settled by summer at Ballast Point Park or Picnic Island, plan treatment for early spring. Weddings and reunions work the same way: count back three months, not one week. You can watch contour mature across that window in the Formation before and after gallery.

The FaceTite handpiece is identical at every practice that owns one. The thinking around it, before and after the procedure, is not.

Who Gets Told To Wait

Formation turns people down, and the reasons stay consistent.

  • Liposuction is a contouring tool, not a weight-loss procedure. Anyone well above their goal weight is asked to get closer first.
  • Skin far past the elasticity window gets a referral conversation instead of a tightening plan.
  • Bands a patient wants gone point to layer two, not FaceTite.
  • Anyone expecting facelift-level change from an office procedure gets a reset on what’s realistic.

Timing counts too. Plenty of patients worry less about the procedure than about whether now is the right moment, with work, training or an event ahead, and sometimes waiting is the right call. If the conversation keeps drifting below the collarbone, HD liposuction in Rembrandt Gardens may be the better fit. It’s the procedure Dr. Grandhige performs most often.

Common Questions About FaceTite In Rembrandt Gardens

About 15 to 20 minutes outside rush hour. Formation is at 1315 South Howard Avenue, and the simplest route runs north to Gandy Boulevard, east to Bayshore Boulevard, then up Bayshore to Howard Avenue.

Yes. FaceTite at Formation is done in the office with an oral sedative and local anesthetic, without general anesthesia. Because of the sedative, someone else needs to drive you home.

Most patients return to work and training at about one week. The chin compression garment is worn 12 to 24 hours a day through that first week.

No. Vertical bands come from the platysma muscle, and heat doesn’t correct them. When bands are present, the solution is MyEllevate, a permanent suspension suture, with platysmaplasty.

Skin far past the elasticity window usually needs removal rather than tightening. Formation refers those patients to surgeons who do that work well and stays in contact with them to point you to the right one.

Results are long-lasting. Aging continues, but removing excess fat from the neck can reset the aging clock and slow the appearance of future laxity, and a stable weight helps the result hold.

Yes. Dr. Grandhige, a board-certified general surgeon specializing in aesthetic surgery, evaluates every patient, designs each plan himself, and personally performs the procedure.

You can start with a complimentary virtual evaluation with Hanna, Formation’s patient coordinator. The in-office consultation with Dr. Grandhige carries a fee, is a full surgical assessment, and the fee applies toward any procedure or product at Formation.

Where To Start From Rembrandt Gardens

FaceTite works on a specific neck: moderate fat, skin inside the elasticity window, no banding, and a chin that sets a clean angle. On that neck, done awake in an office 15 to 20 minutes from Rembrandt Gardens, it produces a sharper jawline that keeps improving for six to nine months.

On a different neck, a different layer needs the work. The most useful thing a surgeon can tell you is that, before you book. The four-layer read is where you find out which neck you have.

There’s a story behind every decision.Cosmetic surgery is a personal decision. Yet people who choose it often find themselves having to explain or defend that choice to others. Some want to restore changes after pregnancy or weight loss. Others have worked hard to get in shape but still have areas they’d like to improve. And some simply want to feel more comfortable with their appearance. The reasons are different for everyone. And they don’t have to make sense to anyone else.At Formation, Dr. Gopal believes the decision to pursue cosmetic surgery should be guided by a patient’s personal goals, realistic expectations, and what’s medically appropriate for them.Because ultimately, the person making that decision is the one who will live with it.#Tampa #CosmeticSurgery #BodyContouring #Liposuction

What weight loss can’t fix. After losing over 100 pounds, this patient had achieved significant weight loss, but was left with excess skin around his abdomen and back that weight loss alone couldn’t address.During an 8-hour surgery, Dr. Gopal performed a circumferential body lift, a procedure that removes excess skin around the entire midsection to improve body contour. In this video, Dr. Gopal walks through the procedure, explaining how he removed approximately 3 pounds of skin from the back and estimated another 4–5 pounds would be removed from the abdomen. He’s also using a small amount of fat collected during the procedure to add volume to the upper chest, improving its contour without performing a separate chest lift. For patients who have experienced major weight loss, body contouring can help address the excess skin that remains after the weight is gone.Considering surgery after weight loss? Your fat is liquid gold. The fat you don’t want might be exactly what another part of your body needs.During liposuction, the fat we remove doesn’t always have to be discarded. In fact, Dr. Gopal refers to it as “liquid gold.”Why? Because that fat can sometimes be transferred to another area of the body to add volume, enhance natural contours, and create a more balanced shape. For women, that might mean adding volume to the breasts, hips, or buttocks. For men, fat transfer can help enhance the chest or shoulders. And because we’re using your own fat, we can potentially improve two areas during the same surgery.Of course, fat transfer isn’t right for everyone. It’s something Dr. Gopal discusses with patients beforehand and incorporates into the surgical plan when appropriate.Considering liposuction in Tampa? A flatter stomach without a tummy tuck? 👀Pregnancy, and sometimes increased pressure from fat deep inside the abdomen, can cause the abdominal muscles to separate down the middle. This is called diastasis recti, and it can make your belly stick out even if you’re otherwise lean.Traditionally, repairing that separation often meant undergoing a tummy tuck. But what if you don’t have much loose skin to remove? For the right patient, Dr. Gopal can use robotic-assisted surgery to bring those separated muscles back together through three small incisions, without the long scar associated with a traditional tummy tuck. That’s exactly what he did for the patient in these before-and-after photos. No tummy tuck. No additional procedures.**But this approach isn’t for everyone.** If you have significant loose skin or excess fat, a different treatment may be more appropriate. That’s why understanding what’s causing your belly to protrude matters before deciding on surgery.Curious whether you’re a candidate? The fat is gone. But what takes its place? When fat is removed during liposuction, it leaves behind space beneath the skin. As the body heals, fluid can sometimes collect in that space, creating what’s called a seroma. And here’s why that matters. If fluid continues to collect, it can potentially affect the final contour. That’s why Dr. Gopal pays close attention to fluid buildup during recovery.
