FaceTite In Port Tampa, FL

FaceTite, a radiofrequency device used beneath the skin, firms a softening jawline and the skin under the chin from underneath. At Formation, liposuction removes fat first. FaceTite then tightens the skin that’s left so it settles against the jaw. It’s an office procedure under local anesthesia with an oral sedative, and it leaves no facelift scar. Patients return to work and training at about one week. Formation is in SoHo, about eight miles north of Port Tampa. That’s close enough to recover at home and keep every follow-up a short drive.

What FaceTite Does, And What It Leaves To Liposuction

FaceTite tightens the connective tissue that holds skin to the structures underneath. A thin probe passes under the skin, and an electrode on the surface reads the temperature and holds the heat inside a set range. The heat contracts the fibroseptal network, the connective tissue between skin and muscle. The collagen response keeps building for months afterward.

Depth is the reason to choose it. Lasers and microneedling work from the surface down and stop short of the fibroseptal network. FaceTite heats that network directly from below. Renuvion, a helium plasma and radiofrequency device, works in the same plane. Dr. Grandhige uses whichever one suits the neck in front of him.

FaceTite doesn’t remove fat. In Formation’s neck and jawline contouring procedure, liposuction clears fat under the chin and along the jaw first, through the same small incisions. Tightening follows in the same visit. That makes FaceTite a minor surgical procedure.

The regulatory record is narrower than many ads suggest. FaceTite is a bipolar radiofrequency handpiece made by InMode. The InMode RF System it runs on is cleared through the FDA’s 510(k) pathway as an electrosurgical cutting and coagulation device. The clearance covers dermatological and general surgical procedures that need soft tissue coagulation, contraction or hemostasis. “Cleared” is the accurate word. The 510(k) summary for the InMode RF System describes soft tissue in general, not a cosmetic result. “FDA-approved” refers to a different pathway.

A Surgeon Trained In What Heat Does To Tissue

Dr. Gopal Grandhige evaluates every FaceTite patient, designs each plan himself and performs every case. He’s a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in aesthetic surgery. He has more than 15 years of surgical experience and several thousand procedures behind him. He trained at the University of Michigan Medical School and completed a full general surgery residency. His fellowship training covers burn surgery, critical care, and minimally invasive metabolic and foregut surgery.

The burn fellowship is the one that matters here. Every radiofrequency device raises the same issue: how much heat living tissue can take and still heal cleanly. Burn surgery is built around that issue. It also explains the restraint in his plans. The goal is a sharp jaw that keeps its natural angles and doesn’t look pulled.

Which one had surgery 1 or 2? 👀High-definition liposuction goes beyond traditional fat removal. Instead of simply reducing fat evenly, the surgeon strategically removes fat around the underlying muscles to make their natural contours more visible. But here’s what makes it interesting: HD lipo doesn’t create the same six-pack on everyone. There’s a story behind every decision.Cosmetic surgery is a personal decision. Yet people who choose it often find themselves having to explain or defend that choice to others. Some want to restore changes after pregnancy or weight loss. Others have worked hard to get in shape but still have areas they’d like to improve. And some simply want to feel more comfortable with their appearance. The reasons are different for everyone. And they don’t have to make sense to anyone else.At Formation, Dr. Gopal believes the decision to pursue cosmetic surgery should be guided by a patient’s personal goals, realistic expectations, and what’s medically appropriate for them.Because ultimately, the person making that decision is the one who will live with it.#Tampa #CosmeticSurgery #BodyContouring #Liposuction

What weight loss can’t fix. After losing over 100 pounds, this patient had achieved significant weight loss, but was left with excess skin around his abdomen and back that weight loss alone couldn’t address.During an 8-hour surgery, Dr. Gopal performed a circumferential body lift, a procedure that removes excess skin around the entire midsection to improve body contour. In this video, Dr. Gopal walks through the procedure, explaining how he removed approximately 3 pounds of skin from the back and estimated another 4–5 pounds would be removed from the abdomen. He’s also using a small amount of fat collected during the procedure to add volume to the upper chest, improving its contour without performing a separate chest lift. For patients who have experienced major weight loss, body contouring can help address the excess skin that remains after the weight is gone.Considering surgery after weight loss? Your fat is liquid gold. The fat you don’t want might be exactly what another part of your body needs.During liposuction, the fat we remove doesn’t always have to be discarded. In fact, Dr. Gopal refers to it as “liquid gold.”Why? Because that fat can sometimes be transferred to another area of the body to add volume, enhance natural contours, and create a more balanced shape. For women, that might mean adding volume to the breasts, hips, or buttocks. For men, fat transfer can help enhance the chest or shoulders. And because we’re using your own fat, we can potentially improve two areas during the same surgery.Of course, fat transfer isn’t right for everyone. It’s something Dr. Gopal discusses with patients beforehand and incorporates into the surgical plan when appropriate.Considering liposuction in Tampa? A flatter stomach without a tummy tuck? 👀Pregnancy, and sometimes increased pressure from fat deep inside the abdomen, can cause the abdominal muscles to separate down the middle. This is called diastasis recti, and it can make your belly stick out even if you’re otherwise lean.Traditionally, repairing that separation often meant undergoing a tummy tuck. But what if you don’t have much loose skin to remove? For the right patient, Dr. Gopal can use robotic-assisted surgery to bring those separated muscles back together through three small incisions, without the long scar associated with a traditional tummy tuck. That’s exactly what he did for the patient in these before-and-after photos. No tummy tuck. No additional procedures.**But this approach isn’t for everyone.** If you have significant loose skin or excess fat, a different treatment may be more appropriate. That’s why understanding what’s causing your belly to protrude matters before deciding on surgery.Curious whether you’re a candidate? Why does fluid sometimes collect after surgery? After certain surgical procedures, fluid can accumulate beneath the skin, forming what’s called a seroma. In this video, Dr. Gopal demonstrates how he drains a seroma in a patient recovering from diastasis recti repair. This is one of the reasons postoperative follow-up matters. It allows Dr. Gopal to monitor healing, identify any issues, and address them when necessary.Considering surgery? The fat is gone. But what takes its place? When fat is removed during liposuction, it leaves behind space beneath the skin. As the body heals, fluid can sometimes collect in that space, creating what’s called a seroma. And here’s why that matters. If fluid continues to collect, it can potentially affect the final contour. That’s why Dr. Gopal pays close attention to fluid buildup during recovery. His approach is to identify seromas early and address them quickly.Considering liposuction in Tampa? The Four-Layer Neck Read

Most necks show aging in more than one layer at once. That’s why two Port Tampa neighbors can ask for FaceTite and leave with different plans. Dr. Grandhige reads four layers before choosing a tool, and each layer has its own fix. FaceTite answers only one of them.

Layer One, Fat

Fat under the chin and along the jaw is what most people notice in photos. Liposuction removes it, and those fat cells don’t come back. When the skin sits well once the fat is gone, the plan can stop there.

One Formation patient was a fit professional in his 40s who had looked this way his whole life. Weight loss never touched his neck, and he hated how he looked in pictures. His plan was targeted neck liposuction and jawline contouring that preserved his natural angles and avoided aggressive skin tightening. Afterward, colleagues told him he looked rested and energized. He said his neck finally matched the rest of his body, and he started getting into photos again.

Layer Two, The Platysma And Platysmal Bands

The platysma is a thin sheet of muscle across the front of the neck. As its edges separate with age, they show as vertical cords called platysmal bands. Heat doesn’t change them, and neither does fat removal. Where bands are present, the fix is a muscle repair: platysmaplasty with MyEllevate, a permanent suspension suture. The suture is nonabsorbable, holds from the day it’s placed and can be removed later. Barbed threads, by contrast, dissolve.

Layer Three, Skin And The Fibroseptal Network

This is the layer FaceTite was built for. Skin that has lost some spring, but doesn’t hang, tightens when the network beneath it contracts. Dr. Grandhige weighs skin elasticity and quality alongside fat and bone, because tightening can only work with the skin you bring. Heavy sun damage tends to mean a smaller result.

Layer Four, Chin Projection And Jaw Angle

Some jawlines look soft because of the frame underneath. A chin that sits back, or a shallow jaw angle, blurs a profile the way fat does, and no amount of tightening sharpens bone. The fix is structure: filler placed against the bone. Options include Radiesse, a calcium hydroxylapatite, and Juvederm, a hyaluronic acid. When a patient asks for a superhero jawline, this is usually the layer they mean.

Who Should Skip FaceTite

FaceTite fits mild to moderate laxity in skin that still has some spring. That usually means a skin age of roughly 25 to 55, which can run younger or older than the age on your license. Outside that window, or when a different layer drives the problem, the plan changes.

Skin that hangs while you’re standing still needs to be removed, because heat won’t shrink it enough. Formation stays in contact with surgeons who do excisional work well and points those patients to the right one. Platysmal bands need muscle repair. A soft jaw caused by a recessed chin needs structure. Dr. Grandhige tells you which of these applies before anything is booked. Sometimes his recommendation is to wait.

When you look through the before-and-after gallery, compare patients whose starting point resembles yours. A dramatic change on a different neck tells you little about your own.

The Side Effects Most FaceTite Pages Leave Out

FaceTite’s side effects are mostly temporary, and the published research puts numbers on them. One 2020 multicenter review, which its authors called the largest evaluation of its kind at the time, covered 247 patients treated between 2013 and 2018 with FaceTite combined with fractional radiofrequency. The side effects it recorded:

  • Swelling lasting past six weeks in 4.8 percent of patients
  • Firm areas lasting past twelve weeks in 3.2 percent
  • Temporary weakness of the marginal mandibular nerve, which moves the lower lip, in 1.2 percent

All of these resolved without further treatment, and 93 percent of patients said they were pleased and would do it again.

The study has limits you should know about. First, those patients also had RF microneedling, so the figures describe FaceTite used in combination. Second, several of the authors consult for InMode, the company that makes the device. Third, only 13 of the 247 patients were men, so the published picture is mostly a female one. Male aesthetics is one of the areas Dr. Grandhige is known for. FaceTite for men is planned on its own terms, because a male neck and jaw need a different eye. You can read the full 2020 study yourself.

Two more points belong on the list:

  • Bruising is normal in the first days.
  • Over-aggressive fat removal can leave irregularities and age a neck early, which is why fat comes out with restraint.

Recovery decides the rest. Dr. Grandhige puts the split at roughly 60 percent procedure and 40 percent aftercare. That’s the 60/40 Recovery Standard, and skipped garment hours can undo clean work.

Procedure Day And Recovery From Port Tampa

FaceTite for the neck and jawline is an office procedure at Formation, at 1315 South Howard Avenue in SoHo. It’s done under local anesthesia with an oral sedative. In the 2020 series, 97 percent of cases were done under local anesthesia, so local anesthesia is the standard route for this work.

Fat comes out first through small incisions under the chin and behind the ears. FaceTite or Renuvion then tightens the skin over the muscle and bone. If your plan adds anything that needs an operating room, that part happens in a Quad A accredited facility. There, Dr. Grandhige works with the same anesthesia provider, staff and physician assistant on every case.

The trip home is short. One common route runs south on Dale Mabry Highway and west on Interbay Boulevard, about eight miles in all. The oral sedative rules out driving yourself, so arrange a driver. At that distance, recovering in your own bed is practical. Formation also has hotel arrangements near the practice, and Dr. Grandhige sees those patients at the hotel in the first days, if you’d rather stay close.

The recovery calendar matches every FaceTite in Tampa case:

  • First few days: swelling, bruising and tightness under the jaw, with a chin compression garment on.
  • One week: back to work, social plans and training, with the garment worn 12 to 24 hours a day.
  • Two to four weeks: swelling keeps settling, and the liposuction result shows.
  • Three months: tightening becomes visible, and the jawline reads clearly.
  • Six to nine months: the final result arrives, once skin tightening reaches full effect.

Dr. Grandhige follows every patient for a full year, and from Port Tampa each follow-up is a short drive. A procedure between December and February puts the garment weeks in Tampa’s coolest stretch. It reaches the six-to-nine-month mark between June and November.

The Weeks Before Procedure Day

Preparation starts well before procedure day. Your health and diet are assessed before treatment. Nutrition, supplements and peptides are then adjusted in the window immediately before and after, so your body builds the most structure it can while collagen rebuilds. Protein intake, inflammation control and lymphatic flow are dialed in from the start. The lymphatic, nutrition and coaching providers are ones Dr. Grandhige has vetted himself.

That’s Formation’s philosophy in practice: the procedure is one part of a longer process. Every practice that offers FaceTite buys the same instrument. The thinking around it isn’t the same.

Sun, Sand And Saltwater After FaceTite

Back to training at one week covers the gym, a run, or a walk on the beach. Port Tampa’s western edge meets Tampa Bay. Picnic Island Park, just south of the neighborhood, has a white sand beach, a boat dock and a fishing pier. That setting calls for one adjustment during recovery.

A cap brim shades your forehead, but it doesn’t shade the underside of your jaw. Sand and water bounce sunlight up onto exactly that skin, the same skin that’s rebuilding collagen for months. Sunscreen along the jawline and down the front of the neck, reapplied, protects that work. In the first weeks, an early morning at the beach is better than midday, when the light is strongest. Midday heat also makes a chin garment under a hat strap uncomfortable fast.

Heat matters too. The garment stays on 12 to 24 hours a day in the first stretch, and Tampa humidity makes that harder in summer. That’s one more reason to book in the cooler months when your schedule allows.

Two Ways To Start From Port Tampa

Formation offers two ways in.

The complimentary virtual evaluation is with Hanna, Formation’s patient coordinator. She reviews your goals and outlines a plan before you decide to come in, without you leaving Port Tampa. A straight side-profile photo taken in daylight is worth sending, because it shows chin projection and jaw angle better than a description can.

The in-office consultation with Dr. Grandhige carries a fee, and the fee applies toward any procedure or product at the practice. It’s a full surgical assessment. He runs the Four-Layer Neck Read in person and evaluates skin quality and the anatomy underneath. Then he tells you whether FaceTite fits your neck, even when the answer is no. His board certification can be confirmed through the American Board of Surgery.

Deciding On FaceTite In Port Tampa

FaceTite tightens a softening neck and jawline from beneath the skin, after liposuction clears the fat, without a facelift scar or a facelift recovery. At Formation, a board-certified general surgeon reads all four layers of your neck before choosing a tool. He’ll tell you when FaceTite is the wrong one. The published numbers support a real change with mostly temporary side effects. They also come with limits worth knowing before you treat any figure as a promise.

From Port Tampa, the logistics are light. The practice is about eight miles away, you go home the same day, and follow-ups are short drives. The planning that matters is sun, heat and timing.

If you’re still weighing it, start with the complimentary virtual evaluation with Hanna. If you want the full read now, book the fee-based in-office consultation with Dr. Grandhige.

Frequently Asked Questions About FaceTite

FaceTite is a minor surgical procedure. A thin probe goes under the skin through small incisions under the chin and behind the ears, and at Formation it follows liposuction in the same visit. It's done in the office under local anesthesia with an oral sedative, and you go home the same day.

Formation is at 1315 South Howard Avenue in SoHo, about eight miles north of Port Tampa. At that distance, recovering at home is practical, and each follow-up visit is a short drive. Formation also keeps hotel arrangements near the practice for patients who would rather stay close.

No. The oral sedative rules out driving, so plan on a driver for procedure day. The ride back to Port Tampa is short, and you'll recover at home in your chin compression garment.

Patients return to work and social plans at about one week. The chin compression garment stays on 12 to 24 hours a day through that stretch, and swelling keeps settling over the following weeks.

No. Vertical cords are platysmal bands, a muscle problem in layer two of the Four-Layer Neck Read. Heat and fat removal don't change them. Where bands are present, the fix is platysmaplasty with MyEllevate, a permanent suspension suture.

Bruising, swelling and tightness under the jaw are expected in the first days. Over-aggressive fat removal can leave irregularities and age the neck early, which is why fat comes out with restraint. The side effects section above lists the published rates for less common effects, along with their limits.

The fat cells removed with liposuction don't return, and results are long-lasting as long as your weight stays stable. Your neck keeps aging, but removing excess fat from the area can reset the aging clock and slow the appearance of future laxity.

The window is a skin age of roughly 25 to 55, which can differ from the age on your license. What matters is how much spring your skin still has. Skin that hangs at rest is a different problem: it needs removal, and Formation points those patients to surgeons who do that work well.

Deciding On FaceTite

FaceTite is a depth tool. It reaches the connective foundation that lasers and surface microneedling cannot, clears the fat sitting over it in the same appointment, and does both in the office while you stay awake. It works when skin still recoils and the problem is mild to moderate. It underdelivers when skin has stopped recoiling, and you will be told that rather than sold the appointment you walked in asking for.
