Sometimes the honest answer is no, or not yet. If you’re far from your goal weight, lipo isn’t weight loss and won’t get you there. If your main issue is loose skin and separated muscles after pregnancy or weight change, fat removal won’t fix that, and a tummy tuck is the procedure that actually addresses it. And aggressive over-removal, the thing that looks dramatic in a quick before-and-after, tends to age badly and can leave contour irregularities. Dr. Grandhige would rather do less and have it hold up than do too much. Some patients leave a consultation with a plan to wait or to handle something else first. That’s the practice working the way it’s meant to.
Every Formation procedure is done in a Quad A accredited surgical facility, the most rigorous level of oversight for outpatient surgery. HD lipo is performed under general anesthesia in that accredited setting. Swelling, soreness, and some drainage are expected. You’ll be up and walking early, even if hunched. This stretch is the hardest part, so plan to do nothing else.
You wear compression around the clock. Lymphatic treatments begin, and if a fluid collection (a seroma) forms, it gets drained. Most people manage light daily activities but aren’t back at work yet, and the gym stays off the table for now.
Swelling steadily drops. Lymphatic care continues to support healing and keep fluid from building up. Most patients are back at the gym without restrictions by this point, as long as the garment stays on.
The definition keeps sharpening as the last of the swelling resolves, usually clear by three to six months and fully settled between six and twelve, when skin pliability and sensation return to normal. You can see how results mature over months in the before-and-after gallery.
One thing worth hearing up front: the first week is hard, firm or fibrotic areas can show up and are worked on with lymphatic care, and the final look takes months, not days. Anyone promising a finished result in two weeks is selling you the photo, not the process.
A sharper jawline often does as much for how fit you look as a flatter stomach. Plenty of Beasley patients pair torso work with neck and jawline contouring, because fat under the chin can make an otherwise lean person read as heavier or older. It’s a smaller procedure with an outsized effect on how you come across in photos and on video calls.
Choose for judgment and depth, not the loudest marketing or the lowest number. Look for a surgeon who asks questions, explains limits, and is willing to tell you no. If everything sounds easy and guaranteed, treat that as a warning. Review results with a critical eye, and favor natural proportions that age well over extreme, over-etched bodies.
