Neither one is better. They fix different problems, and the real answer to what is better FaceTite or Endolift depends on three things: how much loose skin you have, how much fat sits under your chin, and how experienced the person holding the device is.
The short version is simple. Endolift uses a hair-thin laser fiber and does well with small fat pockets and mild sagging. FaceTite uses radiofrequency and pulls harder on skin that has already started to drop. One buys you a faster return to normal life. The other buys you more tightening.
I’ve been operating in Tampa for over 15 years. I’ve watched a lot of patients pick a device off social media, then learn at their follow-up that the device was never the thing that decided their result.
FaceTite and Endolift are both minimally invasive treatments that heat tissue under the skin to tighten it and shrink small fat pockets. FaceTite uses radiofrequency energy between two probes. Endolift uses a 1470 nm laser fiber placed under the skin. Neither one replaces a facelift or a neck lift.
For patients with mild sagging and good skin quality, Endolift is the more sensible starting point. For patients with real fullness under the jaw plus laxity, radiofrequency does more work. That’s the whole comparison. Everything else you read about it is packaging.
I’ll say the part most clinics avoid. If you already have loose neck skin that hangs when you look straight ahead, neither device is going to give you the result in the before-and-after photo.
Endolift threads a laser fiber thinner than a hair through a tiny entry point. The heat does two jobs at once. It shrinks small fat deposits, and it irritates the tissue enough that your body builds new collagen over the following months.
Most patients need one session. It’s done under local anesthetic and usually takes less than an hour.
The evidence is promising and thin at the same time. A 2024 systematic review in Aesthetic Plastic Surgery screened 339 papers and kept 23 of them. The authors found favorable results for face and neck lifting with mild, self-limited side effects. They also rated the evidence at levels III and IV and asked for controlled trials with larger groups before anyone claims more than that.
I read that as a green light with a caution flag, not a coronation.
FaceTite runs radiofrequency current between two probes. One sits under the skin on a small cannula. The other rides on the surface. Tissue caught between them heats to a controlled temperature, which contracts the collagen you already have and triggers new collagen at the same time.
That sandwich design is why radiofrequency tightening produces more contraction than surface-only devices. You’re heating the underside of the skin directly instead of hoping energy penetrates from above.
It melts fat too, though not the way liposuction does. If you have a real pad of fat under the chin, I’d rather remove it properly and then tighten. Asking one device to do both jobs usually means it does both of them at about 70%.
Laser versus radiofrequency matters less than the industry pretends. What changes your result is how much laxity you’re starting with and how well your provider reads the endpoint.
I’ll correct something I used to say. For years I framed this as a technology question, laser over here and radiofrequency over there. That framing isn’t quite right. The better question is how much contraction the patient needs, then which tool gets there with the least tissue trauma.
The volume data shows how commoditized this space has become. ASPS counted 439,032 nonsurgical skin tightening procedures in 2024, up 0% from 438,211 the year before, while minimally invasive procedures overall grew 3%. A flat category with dozens of competing devices means marketing budgets, not outcomes, are deciding what patients walk in asking for.
Candidacy is a physical exam finding, not a preference. I pinch the skin under the jaw and watch how fast it snaps back. I check whether the fullness is fat or muscle banding. I look at the jawline while the patient is upright and talking, not lying flat under a bright light.
The laser suits patients who still have spring in their skin and want refinement rather than rescue.
Radiofrequency earns its place once the jawline has softened into sagging jowls and the fullness under the chin has real weight to it.
These patients need more pull than a laser fiber alone reliably delivers.
Plan on 1 to 3 days of social downtime after Endolift and 5 to 10 days after FaceTite. That gap is the most honest difference between the two.
Anyone calling either one a lunchtime treatment is selling you something. FaceTite bruises. Sometimes it bruises a lot. You’ll wear a compression garment for the first week or two, and you’ll look swollen before you look better.
Both keep improving for months after the swelling clears. Collagen remodeling peaks around month three to six. The patients who end up disappointed are the ones checking the mirror on day fourteen and deciding it didn’t work.
Serious complications are uncommon with either device in trained hands. Temporary numbness, swelling, and bruising are normal, not rare.
Endolift tends to leave small areas of firmness while things settle. Those usually resolve on their own over a few weeks.
FaceTite carries the risks that come with more heat. Burns, longer-lasting numbness, fluid collections, and firm lumps in the neck if energy gets delivered unevenly. Burns are rare with experienced providers. They aren’t rare with providers who learned the device at a weekend course.
Both are Class II devices cleared through the FDA’s 510(k) pathway. Cleared isn’t the same as approved. It means the manufacturer showed the device is similar enough to something already on the market.
A meaningful share of people searching this question need surgery, not a device. If your skin has true excess, if it hangs rather than droops, or if you have visible bands running down the front of your neck, energy alone won’t fix it.
That’s when I send patients to Dr. Ahmad Saad for a neck lift. It costs more downtime and delivers a result devices can’t reach. Turning someone down for FaceTite isn’t lost revenue to me. It’s a patient who avoids paying for two procedures instead of one.
ASPS members reported roughly 79,000 facelifts in 2024. Set that against 439,032 tightening procedures and you can see how much of this market is being routed toward devices, including patients who shouldn’t be there.
Ask how many of these your provider has done in the last twelve months. Ask to see 6 and 12 month photos, not 6 week photos. Ask what happens if the result underwhelms.
Then ask about the device itself. Generic 1470 nm laser systems have spread fast, and not all of them are the platform the published studies were run on. You can look up any cleared device on the FDA clearance database before your appointment.
One more thing patients should know about Formation. Jeff Atlas, PA-C performs all of our injectables. I don’t inject. I plan and perform the surgical and energy-based work myself, and I want people to know exactly whose hands they’re in before they book anything.
It depends on whether the fullness is fat or loose skin. Endolift handles small fat pockets with mild laxity well. FaceTite is the stronger choice when there's more volume under the chin along with skin that has started to sag. If the fat pad is substantial, removing it and then tightening usually beats asking either device to do both.
Reported longevity runs about 1 to 5 years for FaceTite and about 1 to 3 years for Endolift, though head-to-head data comparing them directly is limited. Aging keeps going either way. Most patients need maintenance eventually.
FaceTite is generally described as more uncomfortable because the heating goes deeper and covers a broader zone. Both are performed under local anesthetic, so the discomfort patients report is mostly in the days afterward rather than during.
No. Both are built for mild to moderate laxity. Severe excess skin or deep tissue descent needs surgery. ASPS members reported roughly 79,000 facelifts in 2024 against 439,032 nonsurgical tightening procedures, and some share of that second number belongs in the first.
You'll see some contraction early, but swelling hides it for the first two to three weeks. Collagen remodeling peaks around month three to six. Judging your result at two weeks is the most common mistake patients make.
Endolift. Typical social downtime runs 1 to 3 days versus 5 to 10 days for FaceTite. If you have a fixed event or can't take a bruised week, that difference outweighs the extra tightening radiofrequency provides.
Often, yes. Rapid weight loss tends to leave skin laxity without much remaining fat, which shifts the answer toward tightening rather than fat reduction. ASPS reported that more than 800,000 aesthetic patients under member surgeons used weight loss medications in 2024, with 41% considering nonsurgical options.
The last one got 11/10.
Some of the biggest factors affecting liposuction results have nothing to do with what happens in the operating room.
Dr. Gopal rates 13 factors that can influence the final result, from working out before surgery and maintaining a stable weight to compression garments, skin elasticity, and lymphatic massage.
A few of his ratings might surprise you.
For example, he rates skin elasticity a 10/10 because even after the fat is removed, the skin still needs to contract and settle over the new contour.
And lymphatic massage? He gives it an 11/10 because of the role it plays in his recovery protocol, helping manage swelling and supporting how the skin settles over the newly sculpted areas.
The takeaway: great liposuction results depend on more than the surgery itself.
Patient preparation, anatomy, recovery, and long-term weight maintenance all play a role.

Six to seven hours.
That’s how long an HD liposuction procedure can take with Dr. Gopal’s approach.
He’s not simply removing fat. He’s evaluating every square inch, considering the underlying anatomy, and shaping how each contour transitions into the next.
It’s detailed, physically demanding work.
So when Dr. Gopal says, “Someone’s gotta sweat for the fat to come off,” he means it.

Will neck lipo give you the jawline you want?
It depends…
Someone can have fullness under the chin and assume the answer is neck liposuction. But what looks like “fat” from the outside can actually come from several different structures.
Some fat sits directly beneath the skin and can respond very well to liposuction.
But fullness can also come from deeper fat beneath the platysma, the salivary glands under the jaw, muscles under the chin, or even the natural projection of the chin and jaw itself.
That distinction can completely change what neck liposuction can realistically accomplish.
This is why evaluating the anatomy matters before deciding on a procedure.
For the right anatomy, neck liposuction can create a significant change in the neck and jawline.
But when deeper structures are contributing to the fullness, liposuction alone may not create the contour someone is expecting.
A good neck lipo consultation should figure that out first.

Want more definition than workouts gave you?
Traditional liposuction focuses primarily on removing fat. HD liposuction goes further. It requires understanding the underlying muscle anatomy, where to remove fat, where to preserve it, and how each contour works together to create natural-looking definition.
That’s the art of it. The goal isn’t to give every patient the same abs or the same body. It’s to work with the anatomy that’s already there and determine how much definition will look right for that individual.
Dr. Gopal Grandhige specializes in high-definition liposuction and advanced body contouring, using nearly two decades of surgical experience to create results that look sculpted, athletic, and intentional.

Defined abs with HD liposuction.
Unlike traditional liposuction, where the primary goal is removing excess fat, HD liposuction is about strategically removing fat to reveal and enhance the underlying muscle structure.
Those markings you see before surgery help Dr. Gopal map out the patient’s anatomy and plan where to remove fat and where to preserve it to create more visible definition.
The second clip was taken immediately after surgery, so this is not the final result. Swelling and bruising will change significantly as the body heals and the final contour develops over the months that follow.

Skin quality changes everything.
Neck liposuction can create a more defined jawline and neck contour by removing unwanted fat, but the result also depends heavily on skin quality and elasticity.
When skin has good elasticity, neck lipo alone may be enough for the skin to contract around the new contour. With some skin laxity, Dr. Gopal may combine liposuction with a skin-tightening treatment such as Renuvion or FaceTite. With significant laxity, a neck lift may be the more appropriate option.
That’s why evaluating the skin is an important part of determining the right approach before neck liposuction.

Liposuction can change more than the body.
I’ve watched patients become more confident, make changes in their careers, show up differently in their relationships, and start making different choices for themselves.
That’s when I know I’ve done my job well.
Because high-definition liposuction isn’t only about creating a leaner, more defined physique. Sometimes the physical transformation becomes the catalyst for changes that reach far beyond the operating room.

Male liposuction requires a different approach.
The contours that create a more feminine shape aren’t necessarily the same ones that create a strong, athletic male physique.
With male high-definition liposuction, Dr. Gopal considers how the chest, abdomen, waist, ribs and back work together—and how the underlying muscle anatomy should guide where definition and shadow are created.
That’s also why the chest matters. A highly defined abdomen and back paired with a rounder, less-defined chest can make the overall result feel out of proportion.
The goal is a cohesive, athletic contour that works with the patient’s natural anatomy.

6 months post high-definition liposuction with moderate definition.
The goal wasn’t just less fat. It was a leaner, more athletic contour with visible definition through the abdomen and torso, without pushing the result to the highest level of definition.
High-definition liposuction strategically sculpts around the underlying anatomy and can be customized based on a patient’s anatomy, muscle structure, and the degree of definition they want to achieve.
For this patient, moderate definition created the balance Dr. Gopal was looking for.
Results vary by patient and depend on individual anatomy, skin quality, and treatment plan.
