The staying power comes from three changes your body can’t easily undo. It’s one of the most reliable body contouring procedures for that exact reason. Aesthetic surgeons nationally counted close to 195,000 of these procedures in a recent year, and the reason is simple: the work lasts.

Overall complication rates run about 10 to 20 percent, and higher after massive weight loss. Those aren’t signs of a failed surgery. That’s life happening to a body that keeps changing.

If life stretches your results, you have options, and none of them mean starting from zero. A pregnancy or a major weight change can loosen skin and muscle again. When that happens, a touch-up can bring the contour back.
