Florida regulates surgery done in a physician’s office, not just in hospitals. Offices that perform deeper sedation procedures or higher-volume liposuction, meaning more than 1,000 cc of fat removed, must register with the state, pass inspections, hold a transfer agreement with a nearby hospital, and keep staff with current life-support credentials. A registered, accredited office with a hospital transfer plan is the safer bet for anything beyond minor work.

One local note for Polk County: at least one Winter Haven area practice that older directories still list has been closed for years, so check current status instead of trusting a directory.
