Plastic Surgery In Palma Ceia Pines, FL

Body contouring and aesthetic surgery under two miles east of Palma Ceia Pines, on South Howard Avenue. A capped surgical schedule, one surgeon from your first evaluation through twelve months of follow-up, and recovery you handle from your own house.

Why Palma Ceia Pines Patients Choose Formation

Formation runs the opposite direction from a volume clinic. The surgical calendar is capped at sixteen cases a month on purpose, so one surgeon carries your case from the first evaluation through a full year of follow-up. About nine in ten patients finish all twelve months.

Formation is a plastic surgery clinic, and it’s worth being precise about who does what. Dr. Gopal Grandhige spearheads the practice. He’s a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in aesthetic surgery, with more than fifteen years of operating experience and several thousand cases behind him. Dr. Ahmad Saad, a board-certified plastic surgeon, is also part of the surgical team.

Dr. Grandhige’s training didn’t begin with cosmetic technique. Medical school at the University of Michigan, then a full general surgery residency, then fellowship work in burn surgery, critical care, and minimally invasive metabolic and foregut surgery. You can confirm his board certification in general surgery through the American Board of Surgery in about two minutes.

That background changes how a contouring case gets planned. A surgeon who has managed burn patients and critical care thinks in tissue behavior, inflammation, and how a contour holds up in year three, not how it photographs at six weeks.

Male patients account for roughly six in ten of the body contouring cases here. Formation is known for high-definition liposuction, male and athletic contouring, and neck and jawline work. Those are the procedures where restraint decides whether a result reads as natural or reads as obviously done.

Getting To Formation From Palma Ceia Pines

Formation sits at 1315 South Howard Avenue, under two miles east of Palma Ceia Pines. Take Swann Avenue or Kennedy Boulevard east to South Howard. Five to ten minutes, traffic depending.

Palma Ceia Pines is a compact South Tampa neighborhood of roughly 1,250 households, bounded by Kennedy Boulevard to the north, Himes Avenue to the west, Armenia Avenue to the east, and Henderson Boulevard and Swann Avenue along the south. Mitchell Elementary and Congregation Schaari Zedek sit inside those lines. No surgical suite does, so residents use providers nearby, and Formation is one of the closest.

One local detail changes how people think about this. A full-service hospital sits right on the neighborhood’s Swann Avenue edge, close enough to walk to, and patients here regularly assume that’s where their procedure would happen. It isn’t. Surgical cases at Formation run in a QUAD A accredited ambulatory facility built for elective surgery. Neck and jawline work is a shorter procedure done in the office under an oral sedative and local anesthetic. Two different settings, and the recovery plan changes with each. Ask any surgeon you interview which of the three applies to your case, because in Florida the answer carries different oversight rules.

The neighborhood itself suits the first week well. Dr. Grandhige wants patients walking within a day or two of contouring, and the flat, shaded residential streets between Armenia and Himes make short loops easy without overdoing it. Most Palma Ceia Pines patients are home within a few hours of surgery and never book a hotel. Roughly a quarter of the surgical schedule travels in from Orlando, Naples, Sarasota, Miami, or Atlanta, and Dr. Grandhige visits those patients in their hotel rooms during the early days so they don’t have to come in. Living here, you skip that step entirely. Treating recovery as part of the procedure rather than an afterthought sits at the center of Formation’s philosophy.

The 60/40 Rule: What Actually Decides Your Result

At Formation, the operation is 60 percent of your result and post-operative care is the other 40. Strong surgery gets undone by weak aftercare, which is why Formation owns the recovery instead of handing you a garment and a follow-up card.

The 60 Percent

Dr. Grandhige designs every surgical plan himself rather than delegating it. He evaluates each patient in person and builds the plan around skeletal structure, fat quality and distribution, skin elasticity, training history, and how the area is likely to age. The operating room team is deliberately fixed: the same anesthesia provider on every case, the same nurses and surgical technologists, plus his own employed physician assistant who assists on all of his surgeries. Nobody learns your surgeon’s methods on your case.

The 40 Percent

The 40 percent splits into five parts, and each one is scheduled rather than suggested.

  • Compression. Continuous through the first four weeks, not when you remember. Neck and jawline patients wear a chin garment twelve to twenty-four hours a day.
  • Lymphatic flow. Treatment starts at your first post-operative visit, not week three. Most high-definition liposuction patients complete six to ten sessions in the first month with providers Dr. Grandhige has personally vetted.
  • Fluid control. If a seroma forms, it gets drained in the office that same visit. Early lymphatic work is largely about keeping them from forming at all.
  • Protein and inflammation. You get a protein target set to your body weight and procedure, plus specific guidance on holding inflammation down through the swelling window.
  • Phased return. Written gates instead of vague timelines. Liposuction patients are typically back in the gym without restriction at one to two weeks with garments on. Abdominoplasty patients return to full exercise at six to eight weeks.

Safety sits under all of it. Every surgical case runs in a facility holding QUAD A accreditation, the standard that accrediting body applies to office-based and ambulatory surgical settings.

The Procedures Formation Focuses On

Formation works a short list instead of a full cosmetic menu. Depth in a handful of procedures beats a long menu.

High-Definition Liposuction

High-definition liposuction is for people already at or near goal weight who train and eat well but carry a stubborn layer that blurs muscle definition. That fat is often genetically resistant, and dieting severe enough to shift it costs muscle and starts a yo-yo. Dr. Grandhige treats high-definition liposuction as sculpture rather than fat removal, working around your own anatomy so the result reads athletic in motion, not only in a still photo. Over-etching is the failure mode he plans against.

Male Body Contouring And Gynecomastia Surgery

Male contouring needs a different aesthetic eye. Chest, abdomen, and flank work have to hold a masculine line together, and small errors read as over-done or feminized. The goal is a clean, flat chest contour without the saucer deformities and over-resection that come from taking too much. Gynecomastia surgery is often combined with strategic torso sculpting when that’s the right call.

Neck And Jawline Contouring

Neck and jawline work targets fat and mild laxity under the chin and along the jaw that make people look heavier, older, or more tired than they feel, even when they’re fit everywhere else. It’s one of the most underestimated procedures in aesthetic surgery. Done well, it changes how someone is perceived without anyone being able to say why. Precise fat removal, natural jaw angles preserved, and internal skin-tightening technology to contour the skin over the muscle and bone underneath.

Abdominoplasty

A tummy tuck corrects what liposuction can’t reach: loose or damaged skin, abdominal muscles separated by diastasis recti, and lost core integrity after pregnancy or major weight change. Muscle repair often improves posture and comfort along with shape. Advanced and revision cases are handled here too.

Lipo360 And Full Torso Contouring

Lipo360 treats the abdomen, flanks, and back in one session so the result balances all the way around the torso. Formation also handles abdominal etching, fat grafting for contour refinement, arm and thigh contouring, back and bra-line work, and revision surgery for contours done poorly somewhere else.

What Recovery Actually Looks Like, Week By Week

Recovery at Formation is managed, not waited out. These are the milestones patients are given, by procedure.

High-Definition Liposuction

  • First 48 to 72 hours: swelling, soreness, and drainage are expected. Walking starts early.
  • Week 1: compression continuous. Light daily activity, but no return to work. Lymphatic treatment begins at the first post-operative visit. Any fluid collection is drained.
  • Weeks 2 to 4: swelling steadily improves. Compression continuous. Most patients return to the gym without restriction while wearing garments.
  • 6 to 12 weeks: definition becomes visible as inflammation subsides.
  • 3 to 6 months: final contour matures, and most patients are comfortable showing results in clothing.
  • 6 to 12 months: skin pliability and sensation return to normal.

n, Dr. Ahmad Saad. Your provider works through the four points above, walks through what filler can and cannot do for your face, and builds a plan around your goals. Male and female jawlines are built differently, and men’s jawline work in particular calls for a distinct eye, so the placement changes with the face in front of us. Photos are taken for reference.

Neck And Jawline Contouring

  • First few days: mild swelling, bruising, and tightness. Chin garment on.
  • 1 week: back to work and social plans, chin garment twelve to twenty-four hours a day.
  • 2 to 4 weeks: swelling improves and the liposuction result is apparent.
  • 3 months: skin tightening visible, with clear jawline improvement.
  • 6 to 9 months: final result, once skin tightening has fully settled.

Abdominoplasty

  • First week: rest, mobility, and pain control. A nurse is provided for the first twenty-four hours, and help at home is recommended after that.
  • Weeks 2 to 3: gradual return to light activity. Compression stays important. Most patients return to work at ten to fourteen days. Lymphatic work continues.
  • 4 to 6 weeks: swelling improves, and full exercise resumes around six weeks.
  • 3 to 6 months: final shape refines as swelling resolves.

How To Check Any Tampa Surgeon Before You Book

Verify the credential and the setting with the state first, then judge the consultation. Both cost nothing, and almost no clinic page in Tampa explains the first one, so here it is.

Florida regulates where this work can legally happen. Under state law, any physician office performing liposuction that removes more than 1,000 cubic centimeters of fat, or any Level II or Level III office surgery, has to register with the Department of Health unless it’s licensed as a hospital or ambulatory facility. The state inspects before approving that registration, and inspects annually afterward unless the office carries accreditation from a nationally recognized accrediting agency. When a registration gets revoked, people named on it can be barred from registering another office for five years. The rules for office surgery registration are published by the Florida Board of Medicine.

Then run four steps.

  • Look up the license. The Florida Department of Health runs a free public portal covering license verification, practitioner profiles, and disciplinary or administrative actions. Search the surgeon by name.
  • Search any former practice name too. Practices sometimes rebrand after problems, so a clean record under the current name isn’t the whole picture.
  • Ask where your specific procedure happens and under what anesthesia. Office, ambulatory facility, and hospital are three different answers carrying three different oversight paths. Vagueness here tells you something.
  • Ask what’s included and what isn’t. Surgeon time, anesthesia, the facility, garments, lymphatic sessions, and follow-up visits should each be spelled out separately rather than bundled together. Ask what a revision would involve before you ever need one.

Independent review platforms read differently from testimonial pages, and that gap is useful rather than alarming. Clinic sites are nearly uniformly glowing. Independent threads surface what actually varies between surgeons: bedside manner, how reachable someone is after surgery, uneven contouring, and revisions. Read both. Then review results critically. Look for consistency and natural proportion rather than extremes, and pay attention to cases where the before body resembles yours. Formation’s before-and-after gallery holds up to that reading.

The consultation is the last check. You should leave feeling assessed rather than sold to. A surgeon who asks more questions than you do, names the limits of what is possible, and will turn you down is doing the job right. Anyone promising an easy, guaranteed outcome has already told you what you needed to know.

Who Formation Turns Away

Roughly one in five consultations here end with a recommendation to wait or to address something else first. That number is intentional.

Sometimes surgery isn’t offered at all. Most people who walk in are already fit and healthy and are dealing with something healthy living can’t fix, like skin laxity. Others are hoping surgery solves a problem surgery doesn’t solve.

You’re probably not a candidate right now if any of these describe you.

  • You’re well above your goal weight and hoping liposuction closes the gap. It’s a contouring tool, not a weight-loss procedure.
  • Your skin elasticity won’t carry a neck and jawline result. That procedure works best in a skin age range of roughly twenty-five to fifty-five.
  • You’re still planning a pregnancy or a major weight change and want abdominoplasty. Muscle repair and skin removal hold up well, but not through another round of either.
  • You want a more aggressive result than your anatomy will carry. Over-resection produces irregularities, laxity, and contours that age badly. More surgery is not better surgery.
  • Your timing is wrong. A wedding in five weeks and a tummy tuck don’t fit on the same calendar.

Formation says so when that’s the case, and gives you a plan anyway. Some patients spend a year on nutrition, training, and health work before coming back, and those cases tend to produce the best results. Male body contouring has a narrower candidate profile than most clinics admit, and this practice is built around it.

Planning Backward From Your Date

If you have an event, plan backward from it rather than forward from today. Swelling resolves on its own schedule, and the most common disappointment in this field is a patient timing a procedure against a wedding, a vacation, or a photo shoot without understanding that curve.

Count back from the date you care about.

  • Neck and jawline contouring, presentable in photos: allow three months minimum. You’re back at work in a week, but the jawline keeps sharpening through six to nine months.
  • High-definition liposuction, comfortable in fitted clothing: allow three to six months. Definition starts showing at six to twelve weeks, which is earlier than final.
  • High-definition liposuction, comfortable without a shirt: allow six months.
  • Abdominoplasty, back at work: allow two to three weeks. Full exercise, six to eight weeks. Final shape, three to six months.
  • Any procedure, plus the consultation and pre-operative preparation window: add four to eight weeks to the front of whatever number you just picked.

Beach season here doesn’t really end, which is exactly why the timing conversation gets skipped in Tampa. If you want to be settled by next spring, the consultation belongs on this year’s calendar.

Your Next Step

A consultation at Formation is built to give you a clear answer rather than pressure. Dr. Grandhige evaluates your anatomy in person, works through your goals and training history, and tells you plainly which procedure fits, which doesn’t, and whether this is the right year for it.

For Palma Ceia Pines residents that means a five to ten minute drive, a same-day return home, and a team that stays on your case for twelve months. High-definition liposuction, neck and jawline contouring, abdominoplasty, and full torso work all start the same way.

Run the state license check first. Then come have the conversation.

Use the form below to request your consultation, and the team will follow up to schedule your visit.

What Palma Ceia Pines Patients Ask Most

No. Formation is on South Howard Avenue, under two miles east of the neighborhood, roughly five to ten minutes by car. There's no surgical suite inside Palma Ceia Pines, so residents come to South Howard and then recover at home.

That's the question the consultation answers, and about one in five end with a recommendation to wait. Dr. Grandhige evaluates your anatomy in person and tells you which procedure fits, which doesn't, and whether the timing works. Patients want honesty rather than flattery, and they get it.

That's the goal and the most common fear patients raise. The approach here is deliberately conservative and anatomy-driven. The aim is that people notice you look rested or fit without being able to identify why. The best outcomes in this field are the ones nobody can name.

By slowing down. Hesitation usually means someone is taking the decision seriously, so it gets normalized rather than pushed past. Restraint is the safeguard: doing only what's necessary, avoiding over-resection, and planning for how a result ages rather than how it photographs at six weeks.

Liposuction patients typically return to light activity within days and to the gym in one to two weeks with garments on. Abdominoplasty patients usually go back to work at ten to fourteen days and to full exercise at six to eight weeks. Swelling keeps improving for months after that.

Fat cells removed during liposuction don't come back, so results are considered permanent with a stable weight. Significant weight gain still affects the fat cells that remain, which is why the education and long-term habit side gets as much attention as the surgery.

Yes. It's a full surgical assessment with Dr. Grandhige rather than a screening call: anatomical evaluation, candidacy, honest discussion of options and limits, and guidance on timing and recovery. You leave with a plan whether or not you book surgery.

No. It contours. The best candidates are already at or near goal weight and want to refine areas that resist diet and training.
